I don't particularly want to see him go but that is a lot for him. If they come back again I would be tempted to accept if they can find someone to come in to replace him.
Does this finally disperse the myth that we sell on the cheap to the first bidder? Id have thought it would have previously with Woodrow, Styles etc but people still love using it as a weapon to bash the club. Turning 4 million down is crazy for us
Guon Khaled lad. Good to see us having some backbone, but if I'm being completely honest rejecting that is borderline mental.
I'm surprised. But I do wonder if 4m is the total. Which consists of 1m up front and all multitude of add ons for example. Then it's not as hard to understand why I suppose
Whilst its a good amount, there is a view point that says dont sell him, even for £10m, it's irrelevant, at this late stage we can't replace him no matter what we get, so we don't sell him in the final hours of the window.
We got 3.5 million for mads. I like kitching but no way is he worth more than mads. Obviously too close to window closing to sell and find a replacement. Plus the club are already in the hunt for a center back which says we haven't replaced mads or Thomas yet and we're 5 games in.
I wouldn't mind if the board then spent 1 million on a proven higher end division one defender and ditto striker.
I've said several times Kitching is the type of player you want in the trenches with you. 5 to 6 million is the figure put on his head at Oakwell. If Coventry want him over to you Mark.
Id normally agree with you mate but I don’t think he’s been the same player since the Coventry interest was made public. I don’t see the full blooded nutter at the back anymore, maybe it’s just me.
The club can't win. If we accept the fee, some will claim it was actually the first bid, despite it not being. If the club turn down the bid, then they get criticised for not accepting it.
