Hopefully won't be too detrimental to our season, haven't really replaced Anderson adequately yet either in my opinion.
Deal closer to £4 million according to Doug. https://x.com/dougokane88/status/1697732512858972397?s=46&t=Kb0ck_npSQi3S0RtBaavZQ Let’s hope the clauses aren’t too ridiculous.
Absolutely brilliant fee, can't wait for 50 pound notes to win headers tomorrow and tenners to be making perfectly timed slide tackles.
Crystal Palace bought Rob Holding from Arsenal for less than we sold Kitching for. Great deal for us and for Kitching
The telling thing for me is this from a doug tweet: “The player was very keen to get the move done.” That is all that matters, we got a good deal all thing considered.
I'd like to thank Liam for his efforts while with us. I thought when we got him he was garbage (sorry Liam). He was awful. But he kept cracking on, he gave everything he'd got, he clearly tried to learn the trade, and just gave it his all. Last season, I really liked him. He's utterly bonkers, but he put in loads of very good performances. Well done mate, you're a genuine credit to yourself. But... He still can't defend. If the money we're hearing about is real, this is the best deal that any club has ever got for a player. It's as nuts as he is, which, to be fair, is rather fitting. Good luck Liam, I hope you have a great career, I really do. But 'kin 'ell, we haven't half done well out of you.
It’s a good fee, couldn’t really turn it down. But how do we get a replacement in now? Our defence looks really weak already. I hate these deals going through on deadline day - really damaging to our season
For gods sake!! We had an offer which we couldn't refuse. If you were offered £4m times the value of a product you own, would you turn it down?
Three great memories of him: Terrific goals - Wednesday and Port Vale the standouts Outrageous diagonal long balls (when they came off) That tackle when he turned the lad upside down near the dugouts (against Pompey?)
Quote “I leave with the team in a good place and I’m confident that with the current squad and coaching staff, the club will have a positive season. YOU REDS.” What a load of bull. He, along with other established first team players are so p!ssed off with the way that the squad has been decimated since the play off defeat that they want out. I know that for a fact. TBH I can’t blame them.
Agree good deal. Pretty obvious really. Once he knew of interest. A step up in league and wages will have a slight influence . Now go out and sue em for tapping up prior to a fee being agreed. In the last home game he got slated from some in the stands over his performance and took umbrage with a few with a look of disdain.
Tbh it's rare or if ever to hear a player slag a club off regardless. Pretty sure it wouldnt endear em to their new employer. And/or. Nowt to do with ambition and vastly improved wages and a signing on fee then.
