FIRST INTERVIEW | SAM COSGROVE Interviews Having signed on deadline day, Sam Cosgrove gave us his thoughts after arriving from Birmingham City! Continue reading on the official site...
Great attitude stating he wants to stay long term and make Barnsley his home. I'm actually happy with the window. Maybe the club is listening to the supporters more by signing 2 older players. Great business selling kitch...I wasnt a fan of his defending. We seem to have a quality squad now. Maybe stronger than last year if our back 3 can now become solid
Just feels like a good fit. Just what we need in terms of style etc. And we sound like just what he needs in terms of a fresh start and a permanent deal back in his home county. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out.
Stick my neck on the line here but I think he’s going to be really good for us. I’m not saying he’s going to score a tonne of goals but I think his overall game will really suit us and give us another dimension. If he can continue his form from Plymouth and get a similar level to what Norwood got last season, I’ll be happy.
No reason why he can't, he should look at Kieffer Moore and see how and why he's been so successful at this and a higher level.
Great attitude stating he wants to stay long term and make Barnsley his home. Yes, a bit of a contrast to Herbie Kane's interview last week, when there was a lack of long term commitment on his part.
Much younger 12 in 18 for Plymouth , he will add some goals to our front line ,which we lacked last season. We got him free for 2 seasons. Norwood took 3 months to get fit. Only 75 minutes in him. I'm sure someone will bounce this back if I'm proved wrong. But that's just my opinion.
Yeah fingers crossed, we've got something here that might work out well. Competition to Watters for a start, which might bring out a positive reaction in him. And alongside Cole as well, they might do well as a partnership, similar to how Norwood did.
Just watched this interview. High hopes for the lad. Liking the cut of his jib. He's a Yorkie. " I'm not just a big lump. I can shift a bit. I like to rough up defenders" Come. On. You. Reds.
Yeah, same. Had you told me before pre-season had started that Norwood would move on, but we'd sign Cosgrove, I'd have taken it. Norwood was never intended to be a long term fixture, whereas Cosgrove is in a similar mould, but much younger. Excited to see what he does.
