A long way to go, but we have a decent squad. Standing by my prediction of a top 6 finish. Only Bolton, Oxford & Pompey have made consistent starts as yet. Clear back 3 needs to be established, but we have a lot of strength up front, wide & midfield, which makes me think we'll score plenty this season & the keeper is an excellent loan signing. Just hope he isn't recalled at some stage.
We've only got clean sheets because Roberts has been saving shots from the opposition. If Cole can't be credited with scoring goals I'm not letting our keeper free ride his way to praise.
I think I credited him, in the post above yours. Goalkeeper loans are always a bit of a worry, as they are easier to recall, as I understand it.
I still think we’ll finish in that middle third. Defence, at the moment, isn’t good enough. If that improves and we polish off a fairly decent side come January, I might change my mind. Once McCarthy gets fit, hopefully he’ll be put into the first XI when and if it needs changing. Cundy is also a very good option in my opinion, despite the stick he gets.
On last nights showing Mcarthy looked way off first team contender. I really liked the look of the young un who came on Nathan James he looked quality.
Versus: 10 men A team that haven’t scored a single goal this season A league 2 team in a Mickey Mouse competition We won’t see many more this season
Tommy Toppit here. My first game was in 1960. 63 years of never seeing us win a league. In fact, it wasn't until 2016 that I saw us win a cup. Tranmere had already won 2 or 3 by that stage. That's why I'd rather us field a strong team in the pizza cup. It's the only real chance of us winning a trophy.
Though if Cole had got on the end of that cross it probably would have ended up 2-2 against Oxford, despite Kitching playing with his head up his ar5e.
