So this 3 players called up and you can get your match postponed......is it full internationals or do U21's count too?
According to Ipswich, it extends to the kitman fancying a week off to watch some international footy.
Annoying that we aren’t playing the lesser teams on international weekends which have more chance of going ahead, the next international break will coincide with us playing Bolton so that’ll be postponed too
What gets me is that Pompey called the game off about 3 weeks ago before any squads had been announced. Not sure how that one works…
Portsmouth have had Joe Morrell called up by Wales, currently suspended due to red card, so wouldn't have been playing us anyway. Gavin Whyte did initially get called up for Northern Ireland but has since got injured so would have been out against us anyway. Terry Devlin has been called up for Northern Ireland U21s but that doesn't count? So whys this match off exactly and why does this get allowed to happen with no punishment to those taking the piss?
Unfortunately yeah, Bolton have had 5 called up so unless them players get injured very little chance of it going ahead. As much as I hate a weekend without football, extra time on the training pitch could be massive for us
If what happened with Ipswich is anything to go by. The club gets notified well in advance of potential call ups and they are then confirmed nearer the time. I’m assuming Portsmouth would have been advised in advance.
Should just have an international break for all clubs. Then no one is at an advantage/disadvantage then.
