Even if they get the top end £25,000 it looks underpaid. You can get around that kind of money in welfare without the need for three years experience in elite sport.
Assuming it's full time, it's literally minimum wage. Well, £20,000 is less than NMW for anyone over 23, which you'd assume the only people qualfied are. But folk are desperate to work in pro sport and someone will do it.
Awful wage structure for a role that requires a minimum 3 years experience in the sector, and experience in various management systems and data protection acts. It's basically a minimum wage job.
Depressing stuff. We need to pay people what they’re worth and it’s not good enough to simply say we’re paying market value (if that is indeed the case). We should be doing everything we can to push ourselves as different to the rest - that we’re a community club that cares about the people connected to it. If that means cutting into the playing staff budget then so be it.
I really don’t understand who this job is aimed at? Surely if you have been working in elite sports for three years then you’re worth more than 20k to 25k. Seems like we want an experienced applicant for what looks like an entry level position.
It’s an academy role, and not a highly skilled role either. Will suit someone. I think we can see the club is re-investing money here. Creating roles to help the club and the academy thrive. Is sensible expenditure really and will help us long term.
Elite sports at L1 level doesn’t pay that much anyway, in fact it doesn’t in the Championship at most clubs either. Only in the Prem does it really rack up. The money in football is in players - everything else is very average.
