Andy Blair also won the European Cup with Villa in the same team as David Geddis and played on loan for us in 1987-88

Ohh I remember it all as well, like it was yesteryear lol.
I took a lot of stick at school from my Leeds mates, as we'd lost the first 6 and were bottom.
Was John Dennis in charge at the time ?. Either he was loyal to Clarke and believed in him, or he just couldn't afford to sack him.

Which two teams did we beat 5-2 at home in the League, in season '87 ?. This was after we'd also won 5-2 away at First division West Ham in the Lg cup.

Reading. I think they were successive home games?

It was Reading and Stoke, but I don't think they were in successive home games, were they ?. If they were, I'd forgot that lol.
I think the Stoke game was in November.

Non football trivia - What is the unique thing about Seve Ballesteros' three Open Championship wins in 1979, 1984 and 1988?

Successive league games at home, we played away at Man City in between and I think we also might have played Sheffield Wednesday at home in the League Cup in between too. The Reading game was a Tuesday night, so I'm thinking Man City away following Saturday, Sheff Wed home Tue/Wed and then Stoke at home.

I remember Keith Lodge's review of that Reading match on Radio Hallam. Saying there was a dreaded eerie silence when they went 2-0 up... but eventually we completed an amazing West Ham style transformation, to hit them for 5!. :)
