Scab is just a general term for not joining people who are choosing not to attend something out of principle isn't it? I guess theres different level of scab
No it isn't. A scab is a strike breaker and to call people scabs for attending a football match is utterly ridiculous
its a slippery slope Normalize u21 teams in senior competition before you know it Our next game in league 1 is against Aston Villa B Like Germany & Spain
Iam dead against PL clubs u21's being in it so i don't go but that's MY choice ,if fans want to go ,enjoy.
Better ways to spend time with someone than paying a tenner to watch academy lads in our smallest priority competition of the four we are in
I'm not going as I'm working until 8 if I was off I'd maybe go as it's money coming into the club and I support Barnsley not the FL, the FL make the rules for the competition not the club. At the end of the day it's the individual's choice
That's young uns for you. In my day it was Leeds, Liverpool or Man United. Top clubs pull in the young uns from all over the country if not the world.
Kids will always gravitate to the best teams, like Man Utd in the 90's. My son likes City cause John Stones plays for them and he likes Haaland. We went to the Fulham game and are going to watch them against Forest. Its not like they are rivals to us or anything but he does say if we played them he'd want Barnsley to win!
Of course i've just seen people on here berating an 11 year old and calling him a scab for going to watch his favourite football team in a cheap, midweek game against a treble winning teams reserves who undoubtedly will play some recognisable names in the game. Because that's a completely normal reaction.
Educate? My son already has a better understanding of what the term “scab” means than you clearly do. He also knows that he should be able to make his own choices and not be bullied by keyboard warriors. Especially ones who call 11 year olds names whilst hiding behind a pseudonym. I’d say he’s doing just fine.
Best education you can give your son right now is to show him these comments and tell him not to become a weird internet troll. Meanwhile i think people should go to any Barnsley games they can, one game in september/october against the reserve Man City game could inspire a kid to follow Barnsley FC for life, rather than sit at home watch Liverpool on the telly and stick with that routine. I've seen the second option happen far too many times.
But that's your choice to make for yourself not others. I can think of better ways than to spend my money on booze but still choose to drink. And dare I say would rather pay to watch the academy lads than the ladies. We all have a choice.
