Starting to worry if we'll ever see him in a tarn shirt again. Don't want that Wembley miss being our last memory of him. If he can get fit & firing, this division is his to own. Get well soon, Luca.....

I am sure we will see him back on the pitch for us this season and then the online cynics with their crazy conspiracy theories can eat their words.

Would imagine the bench will look a lot stronger this weekend some real competition in most areas now even without Connell

We've managed to keep the results ticking over without Connell and Russell is starting to come into his stride in that position so i don't think we should be rushing Connell back into training even if that was an option.

He's a fantastic player Connell, i hope he gets well soon.

I'm not been funny, but what do you expect people to think? We have been told absolutely nothing as to what the issue is (not that we should) and the guy isn't even training, it looks serious from the outside with the little snippets of information we've received

Obviously a fit Connell walks into our team but we seem to be seeing the real John Russell who is starting to help us control games from midfield which hopefully means we can manage till Luca comes back.

He’s got a history of illness keeping him out of games, missed a period of games whilst at Celtic which was cited as illness and he was also missing against Ipswich in April with illness.
Just hope whatever it is that the priority is him getting better short and long term.

Agreed. Last season we looked much weaker when Russell filled in for Connell. I don't think that's the case anymore. Russell has certainly started the season much better than he finished the last one, and the more he plays, the better he'll get I reckon. He's certainly much more effective in that role than Kane.

He's had glandular fever and it can be very debilitating and strength zapping.

Seen a few say this. If so wouldn’t the club say? Not a dirty disease after all. Best is no speculation.

One person started the rumour and it gets repeated as if it was fact. There's been nothing from the club. Just itk bs'ers.

Not seen any of that, really, just concerned supporters who'd like to see Luca back and are genuinely concerned about his well-being.

You're never going to get an official statement regarding things like this.

    Things like what? Injuries?
Spose you're right, technically it's not an injury, it's an illness

No,injuries are obviously playing related but private serious illness is a different matter !
