Does Magnet exist anymore , I used to drink in a pub in Gateshead on Sundays when I was at Poly that did Magnet and Tetleys Imperial
Daughter recently graduated form St John's - physiotherapy - had a brilliant time in York - loved the place. T M - have a great stag night !
I went to York Uni for 2 years but dropped out twice and just lived there for a few more years. Love it.
I love Brew York, they do some cracking stouts and sours. Do I remember someone on here saying one of the founders is a Tarn supporter or have I made that up?
The Lowther c2004-7 is the only place I've ever seen it sold. It was their one hand pump. Not spent much time in the north since though to be fair. Uni of, but knew a few folk who went to St John. Either way, it was a great city to study in. Just had to remember to avoid the city centre bars at weekends because of stag dos!
Just make sure you dunt get caught by the Goolies. York has history of ghosts, torture, and gore. In fact, York has been declared the most haunted city in Europe. And getting grabbed by the goolies by the Ghoulies is to be feared.
I was stationed in York for 5 yrs, i used to do doors on Mcmillans Merlins an Silks night club, would'nt av a clue what their called now, we used to buy 20 parnd notes for 8 quid in them days happy times, just go it'll be great wherever you end up.
The "Rook And Gaskill" at the end of Lawrence Street, just through Walmgate Bar, sells good cask ales and has a superb, very extensive range of craft keg beers. It's also cheaper than pubs smack in the centre.
