    You’re possibly right. On one hand, it was disappointing to only score two against a very poor team.
    But, on the other hand, a very professional three points gained without breaking sweat, gaining bookings or injuries.

    Slightly concerned how easily we were undone at the back in the second half, particularly down the right. A side with players who could finish might have nicked something.

    Against a better side we would definitely have conceded, the defending needs to be addressed, but, has its been stated in prior posts a great 3 points and loads of positives.

    Still a bit unconvinced - Tuesday night will be a good indication we made a poor side look at least in the game. The style isn’t the most exciting hence the really quiet crowd for the most part. A wins a win though.

    Keep beating the 5hi t teams and it won't matter if we lose to all the top teams. We'll have 90 plus points.

    It's important not to put too much value on any single game.

    Total control of the game and Lopata is really good and will only get better.
    Not in the squad were Styles Connell Marsh Cundy McCarthy Jalo.
    We brought on as subs Cosgrove Watters Okeefe Dodgson and Benson, they are all starting line up quality for any other league 1 side
    Russeĺl controlled the game, Roberts when called upon was superb.
    Devante goal always believe in.
    You now have to play well to stay in the matchday squad never mind the starting 11.
    Cotter and Phillips were both good today but others now breathing down there necks, they all need to perform to their highest level week in week out or they will be sat watching.
    I have never known us have this strength in depth and money in the bank.

    Still a question mark regarding our defence for me especially against the bigger teams so this Tuesday should give us a indication if we are the real deal but we are getting better and better.

    Defend like we did today against Portsmouth and they will score a few. They would have buried some of the mountain of chances we gifted Burton today.

    For the first time in many a long year I'm excited about the fact that we have a genuine depth of talent either on the bench or in recovery to challenge for positions all over the pitch.
    Add to that the faith and patience shown in Devante Cole coming to a brilliant fruition.

    That lad on the right wing was a handful. But on occasion gave him too much room. Freedom of barnsley on one occasion, great last ditch tackle prevented a shot at goal. ( cant remember for definite. Think it was McCart).

    We might well win the league.

    And you can only beat what is in front of you.

    But that wasn’t a league winning performance today. Second half and parts of the first we allowed them to take a bit of a foothold. We gave them chances other teams would have taken, and a better side, like the opposition Tuesday, will dominate the midfield if we play as passively in the middle third as we did today, and have in other games.

    It was a good solid win, unspectacular. But I’m not going to go mad off the back of it.
