Largely responsible for transforming the way football is played. Listen to what his players say about him. He's one of the greatest.

    Why?

I’d say he’s probably the greatest of all time.

The amount he spends is criminal. If you're the greatest manager ever you don't need to spend a billion quid

You have a point, but despite the money spent on John Stones, you can’t argue he hasn’t come on leaps and bounds since he moved to Citeh. He’s not only realised his potential, he really has nurtured him into a cultured player on the world stage.

He's always had good squad and plenty of money. Be interesting to see how he did with a team who have a bottom 6 budget.

Well you could say he’s earned the right to manage top teams by being a top manager. Plenty have managed top teams and took them backwards, not sure it can be argued that Guardiola hasn’t improved every team he’s managed.

If I had my way, every team in each division would have exactly the same budget for the management team and players. That would sort out the men from the boys.

Yes because the over 1 billion quid United and Chelsea have spent has proven thats all you need!

One of the best managers ever.

It's like having a race on a track I'm in a top of the range merc and your in a 3 wheel Robin reliant. If I win it doesn't mean I'm the better driver. Similar to football.

Man City’s net spend in the last ten years is £732million.

    Which is huge.

But it’s also less than Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd in this country alone.

£250million ish of that net spend wasn’t him. Pep has been there for only seven of those ten years. And averages nearly two major trophies per season at city. More if you include the community shield.

He’s also won the league 11 times in the 14 seasons he’s been a manager/head coach - in three different countries. He’s won a treble including the champions league at two clubs - including in his very first season as a first team manager. Of the three, THREE, seasons in which he didn’t win the league he was in, his teams finished second, third, and second.

Yes he’s bought players at the clubs he’s been at.

But in terms of £ net spend per major trophy won - he’s streets ahead of anyone else. He’s freshened his sides up by selling players for big money too.

How he can ever be seen to be overrated is beyond me. His stats are truly unbelievable.

He certainly doesn’t seem afraid to sell or let first teamers go to rivals.

There was a period when Michael Appleton kept getting poached over and over again despite never actually having done anything of note.
