If our managerial position was free and Duff was available I’d take him, yes. Why not? He lied through his teeth and pissed me and many others off, but his actual actions in leaving were no different to what anyone else in the same position would have done and he’s a very good manager. His words just came back to bite him on the arse. Doesn’t make him a poor manager. Neither does not being instantly successful with a very poor Swansea squad with little investment. Would I bring him back if he gets sacked soon to replace Collins though? No. Of course not. Collins has got the job on merit after being selected by those in charge; and is doing a fair job of it so far. There’s no reason whatsoever to replace him currently.
I loved him when he was here and I genuinely think we were onto something great with him. It was a great fit. But I would not have him back. Onwards.
In different circumstances of course. If we had a vacancy and he was available why not. As for loyalty we nicked him from Cheltenham so it’s not an argument that gets much traction with me.
But he also stabilised them in the Championship. Nothing lasts forever. Having said that, finally in Collins I can see us having a decent manager for a period of 2 + seasons, unless he wants to go back to the good old US I'd A if course! I think you're letting Duff off the hook a bit @troff . Swansea have a good squad. He did very well at Cheltenham, well with us and disastrously at Swansea. So I wouldn't have him back no.
As long as he gets us promoted I'm not fussed to be honest. The real test is the Championship. That's why I didn't rate Duff because with the resources he had at Barnsley in League 1. He ultimately failed.
He’s only been in charge for 6 games It would be madness to sack him when he is completely changing their identity They need to stick with him for a full season at least
I don't think the Jacks want their identity changing though! Especially not when they've just been beaten 2 0 by Cardiff!
Correct mate but it was the rhetoric that pssd most off..all the 'its a project" and " Im here for the long haul" and basically giving believe to a group of fans who lets face it were desperate for something to cling to after the Chien /Conman fiasco of sh*te U12's managers and obvious disregard of our feelings for the club..at least Collins is just getting on with the job and not doing the badge kissing exercise. .....No from me BTW
Don't get the hatred directed at Duff. Left us in a much better state than when he arrived and none of us really know the politics behind him leaving. Move on.
Interesting that Ismael leaves less than completing a full season and gets a “well done” and Duff gets pretty much vilified for what he did. Genuinely, what do you think the difference is ?
