Its not like that though.is it? There are at least 3 other top of the range Mercs and a couple of BMWs in there. And didn't a Reliant Robin win the race a few years ago I.e.Leicester. Easily the Best manager in world football. Players who've played under him say the same which you can't say of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Beat me to it. Stealing a living masquerading as a manager, yet you have to admire the fact that he keeps finding clubs willing to employ him.
Apart from him being very unlucky in both World Cups he managed England in, his successive league titles with PSV, and likewise with Porto when the club was in a complete mess before his arrival? Granted, Euro 88 was an absolute catastrophe, but it was one of the very few stains on his copybook imho. Imagine any of Europe's top sides trying to poach Southgate with his identical World Cup record.
Sir Alex is the greatest premier league manager I've ever seen. Citeh throwing so much money about will always cast doubt over how good he is.
I’m too young to remember the majority of his managerial career but he did a great job at Newcastle. Took them from bottom of the league & had them contending for Europe every season whilst been the most entertaining team in the league. Their demise started by sacking him for ‘only’ qualifying for the UEFA cup.
I think there’s a lot of managers who seem to have mates in the media that big them up so it appears they’re over rated but I don’t think many fans rate them. For example Steve Bruce, Lampard, Appleton, Lee Johnson etc.
I really rate Pep but I wouldn’t use net spend as a way to defend him given the FFP investigations around City.
