Hmmm. Some worrying signs there and some mild hope for optimism.

Looking at the team sheet I had serious concerns about the defence and centre mid against a better team. A lack of quality in defence and a lack of speed in centre mid shouted out loudly.

subs improved things but it would have been hard not to.

Close between Dodgson and Styles for me. I couldn’t consider anyone who played in the first half.

McCart shouldn’t be anywhere near a starter.

I'd have voted for the Sprinkler but was super impressed by Dodgson when he came on. Has Cadden started his last game for Barnsley?

I bloody hope not. Dodgson had a better 45 minutes than him tonight but is still way behind him in the pecking order.

He’s one of our better players.

Styles changed the game, showing what happens when you put a player who can actually effectively move in a midfield with Herbie Kane.

    I agree.

And the fact that the alternative I assume we agree should play instead is a kid we signed from Pontefract collieries who was a kitchen fitter barely three months ago tells you exactly what the board have done to our back line this summer.

    inexcusable.
