A slightly more tolerant acceptance of interfering owners?

It's a long term plan for one. This is why I was against us bringing Warnock in to fire fight the other season. It's not a sustainable long term plan to keep giving him 12 month and a pretty penny to spend just to secure 21st place.

At least with Moore, there should be some sort of long term stability.

Not like Huddersfield to want a manager, coach or player that's been with us first.

I think Warnock has proved he’s not just about paying big bucks. He is as you say a ‘Firefighter’ and always seem to get the best of what he has at his disposal. If you’re in trouble like we were, he’s an excellent choice, even if it is short-term

What do you regard as long term? Not many are around for more than 18 months....

Glad we didnt get Warnock other year and stay up

Glad we chose the sustainable long term plan

Glad we chose the young innovative head coach from Sweden

Glad we stuck with this young upcoming manager until we got relegated

    Honestly I am

Yeah I don't think Huddersfield are in the same boat as we were or at least they will hope not again come January. Warnock did a good survival job for them last season but how long do you think he's got left in management

Agree it's all just 'pie in the sky' way too many variables for long term plans in reality

Would still be happy to have Warnock back involved at Barnsley. Did Collins play for him?

Warnock is a long term option though

He'll still be managing at 88

But with Moore or anyone else in their predicament at the time. Udders would have been more likely to go down. If we'd have took Warnock at the time we were nailed on relegation under Asbahgi. (Did you not think warnock could may well have saved us or preferred to stay with Poya.) Exactly what udders did. And quite possibly warnock's next club. (Best fire fighter ever. Imo)

Don't get me wrong, I'd have taken Warnock over Asbaghi, but given the choice, I'd have rather we'd tempted someone like Duff away from Cheltenham those few months earlier, and given him the end of the championship season to start to bed his ideas in. Even if we'd still gone down, we'd have been in a better position to come straight back up. Had we brought Warnock in, he'd have been here for a few months and moved on again. He might have kept us up, but that would have papered over the cracks in what was otherwise an absolute **** show of a club from top to bottom. Had we stayed up, I'm not sure whether Conway and Lee would even have left.

Aye, you've got a point. I do think Huddersfield are slightly better placed than us to hold onto a manager for more than 18 months though sadly.

I do think had he come in that year and kept us up though, it would merely have papered over the cracks. As I've said above, I'd have preferred us to have got a longer term replacement in when it became apparent Asbaghi wasn't going to keep us up either.
