Two moments that I still can't get my head round from last night.

Phillips is a good player assists and goals don't lie look at last seasons contribution. Needs to be instructed to shoot from range more imo

My biggest surprise was how bad Roberts kicking was . Usually bang on but last night it was like having luke Steele back . To be fair he’s been fantastic in every other game and still managed to pull a very decent save off in second half

I don’t suppose you remember Ronnie trying to play up front away at Blackpool when we just needed a win to go up? He was like a fish out of water and we lost. Thankfully he scored the winner 3 days later against Rotherham having been reinstated to his normal position. To me, Kane is simply playing a different role to last season, and having handbrake Russell and an ineffectual Phillips playing alongside him is not helping. The pass he played to Kitching for his goal against Port Vale was true class, and one that neither of his two midfield partners could dream of making. As I’ve said earlier, I simply do not understand the negativity towards him.

I get stick from a lot of my mates but I actually really like Cotter. At least he excites me when he’s got ball rather than Russell who by the time he’s turned with ball I could have gone for a cig and come back

Second half he played at least three superb curling passes out to the left wing that set up attacks, two of them first-time. I'm no huge fan of his, but it's disingenuous to say he didn't have a good second half.

Defended the wrong side for their 3rd. It's as if he didn't want to take the responsibility to defend.

They were forced back by the Portsmouth high press. We couldn’t keep the ball.

Could be right but I still think Kane's playing much deeper this season which limits how effective he can be.
