I’m slightly surprised Duff is still employed, but if they don’t beat Wednesday at the weekend it’s surely curtains for him.
Think a lot of their fans are expecting their assistant (now caretaker) to get it. Haven’t got a pot to piss in.
Ooh yes forgotten about that possibility. Would be a good job for Martin if he’s had enough of South Yorkshire. Cheltenham-born lad
Wouldn't surprise me. He's been on our coaching staff a long time and always gets overlooked for the top job. He might feel stale and homesick and think now is the time to finally try the main job and go back home.
He as been in the running before for this appointment, wouldn't surprise me one bit if he got the gig.
Homesick? His home’s been up here for years. Kids and wife all up here. His roots are here now. I very much doubt he’s going back down. Not really been his home for over 20 years. He’s in a good position at BFC. Got respect from the fans, from the board and has a safe position regardless of whichever manager comes in. He’s not daft.
a 98th minute equaliser would be better. The Swansea fans went into meltdown after QPR’s 92nd minute goal the other day, so a late equaliser should see the torches and pitchforks come out
Maybe .. but not everyone is happy to be in the background forever.Only he will know how much input he has now Collins and Stead have been here a couple of months.. he may not be happy anymore being the bridesmaid. Some people need a bit more than a 'safe position' especially sportsmen. Wouldn't surprise me if he thought this job was 'right place right time' for him to test himself .
I suppose his family being settled and his lad at Old Trafford Academy will have a big say in his decision. If he goes we will all thank him for his sterling service to the club and wish him well.
Saw an interesting online poll from Swansea fans, seems he's getting a lot of stick on the socials, but the poll indicates the majority of fans want to give him until either the November international break or as long as it takes for results to improve, about 30% want him sacked now. I think a loss against the Fowls though would leave him teetering. Maybe a good result for us enjoying the drama would be another draw? Wouldn't be good for either team. I watched the QPR V Swansea game on the red button, it was absolutely dire football from both sides, not even League One standards, comparing that to the Norwich V Leicester game this week, it was like night and day.
Think Disco has a steady job with us. An important one too, keeping some consistency at a club that loses its head coach on a yearly basis. Settled here & much loved. Will be linked with head coach jobs. One day, it might happen, but not at the moment. I think Cheltenham, Burton & Fleetwood are nailed for relegation. Poisoned chalice that. A good excuse to share this:
