I feel so bad for the kid cos he can never catch a break, he’s done nothing wrong thus far this season and has been excellent when called upon… and this is how he’s rewarded, not a proper chance in the first team but a pointless loan move to the conference yet again.

And in the meantime Watters will carry on being a useless ineffective donkey.

Good move for him for 4 week - gets him playing and playing against men in a decent league too.

When he comes back, if he’s been doing well, I can’t see why he shouldn’t be at least on the bench for us.

Jon Stead ain’t stupid - so we have to trust them.

He must be stupid according to some who I presume watch them training everyday and have played professional football.

Good move for him. Hopefully a run of games at a decent level. He was unlucky with his injury last time out on loan.

Agree. it's only a month and if he regularly starts. Better than U19/23s. The amount of Strikers still at the club was allus going to mean little game time.

Cole. McAtee. Watters. Cosgrove and Jalo. Dyer may be back soon also. (I'm really not sure who starts alongside Cole as 1st choice at the moment) . I reckon Collins will learn more if he starts for York. And letting him go for only a month. Gives more time to assess the situation. (I'd have been more miffed if it was season long) without taking a big risk on letting him go out longer. And no recall.

I do like Marsh btw. And think he has a big future ahead of him.

I’d have started with him and Watters up front against Man City and whoever performed best would be getting a place for the first team. And on what I’ve seen so far this season I would fully expect it to be Marsh.

I only live about five miles from York’s new ground so I might pop down there on Tuesday 26th to see them play Barnet, provided Aiden is playing of course

Marsh should be knocking on the door of our first team given the form of the other players - but as it is only for a month there is some sense in this move. A month of, presumably, full games in a very competitive league of a decent standard - it won’t do him any harm at all.

Probably better for Marshy to go and get some games. With the window system this is the highest level he could still go to, and his age means it can be short term.

I am a little surprised as I thought he’d be on our bench (if not in the team) sooner rather than later, but as I say, there’s some logic here.

If you do go, let us have your opinion on him please.
He’s only there for a month so I think it may just be a catalyst towards his progress and it’s not long to be away from us.

The lad deserves a chance given the half hearted efforts from some.

Sensible move. Gives Aiden a real chance to get some game time and we will clearly be monitoring his progress very closely with a view to integrating him into the first team set up.

Good luck Marsh lad - been excellent in your cameos for us, hope it continues for York and with that extra game time you get yourself back on our bench, if not one better.

Stays fit and plays regular minutes, he’s capable of bagging at that level. Too good for the National League and should be in our regular matchday squads.

Will do. Need to work out the parking arrangements there. It’s on the site of the Vangarde/Monks Cross shopping centres and there are obviously restrictions on Saturday afternoons but that might not apply on a Tuesday night.

It’s a very smart looking ground but I miss the old Bootham Crescent. Been there lots of times including our 7-1 victory in a pre-season friendly a few years ago

Can't see anything negative in this at all - good chance to get a few games in, in competitive open age football.

Incidentally, Woking v York is the lunchtime game on BT Sport or whatever it's called now this Saturday. Double interest for Reds fans as we can both see how Aiden does and also get a preview of our next transfer targets if/when Woking bring someone on from their bench :D
