What a player. Glad that he's with us until at least January.

Hopefully it's the full season and he'll be in our midfield in the Championship next season.

 

Fantastic first half....ok second half but loved his performance overall.

 

What a goal. I think it's great we've got him again this season, he's class.

 

Be great if he's still our player and playing in the euros.

 

I think he will get better as the season goes on.

 

Great in the second half versus Pompey and great in the first half today.

Cracking goal too.

Plays when he wants

 

I know it's a Styles thread but it looks like Collins is a good reactive Head Coach. Every change that was needed, he made.

 

Good player, has the potential to be a stand out player this season. Hopefully he can perform consistently.

 

If he wants a move to a better Championship club, for more money and to help his international appearances, then its up to him.
He needs to knuckle down and give us his best, till the next window or maybe for the rest of the season. Then who knows!.
It will make clubs want to sign him and it might mean us having another good season ourselves. Simples!!.

 

How about him not having to be reactive cos he’s put the right team out with the right tactics in the first place?

Today we had random back 3 players whacking it up to nobody in particular. It may have been Cosgrove I suppose. But most hoofs went nowhere near him.

It was a very poor show. Very poor tactics, failing to make use of our superior players. Poor football. Minimal creative purposeful football.

Mind you if you play such as Phillips in his present form then perhaps long ball is all you are left with. He nearly had us down to ten men again, and needs benching for now

Russell can come in, and Styles and Kane create.

We look better with McAtee in to build things up at least until Cosgrove looks useful

 

I thought the same with the tackle ,it could have easily been a red as his feet were off the floor.
We dodged a bullet with that one.

 

Having just watched the game on ifollow I'd agree with most of what you say. First half we hoofed it long far too often and rarely towards Cosgrove. When we played through midfield we looked much better.
Phillips is one of my favourite players, his goals and assists last season were a fantastic assett. He doesn't look in form at all this season though. Not sure if he's being asked to play a different role. We badly miss Connell.

Wembley red card hangover maybe. Can it last this long because he really has done nothing since he came back to warrant his place

 

I really don't know. All players have spells of poor form at some stage. I'd love to see him back to his best though.
