Busy afternoon for them with people being abused, people sitting in the wrong seats and fans stood in the aisles. Surprised they didn't call for the cops stood around by the corner flag.

They did nothing. There were lads in gangway and stood on seats and two to a seat at that. Stewards didn’t earn a penny they got today.

Fans chanting we're Barnsley FC we'll stand where we want, and a group of four older ladies having to be moved because I presume someone had pinched their seats and I think something went off with one of our disabled fans at the front of the stand, as the main steward spent a while chatting to them.

The ones in the side stand were very sensible to my eyes.

Idiot fans ruining the match. Refusing to sit down, being offensive, young kids unable to watch the match due to the behaviour of our so called fans. Stewards not interested. The away match experience following the Reds

We had to move seats, 2 fans to a seat and 1 stood in front of me in my seat. Just not the hassle trying to reason with them.

I'm afraid that's a fairly good summary. You can end up sitting next to decent people and having no inconsiderate, abusive hooligans in your vicinity, if you are lucky, but it really is pot luck. Many stewards just want an easy time, and I can understand that. Who would want to confront a group of obnoxious idiots? That's, no doubt, why people are told that they can sit where they want. However, stewards are clearly not doing their job in such a situation. Fewer stewards and a greater police presence inside the ground might lead to improved outcomes.

Too much ale too many narcotics too few brain cells even before the ale and illegal substances that's the problem with a large minority of our fanbase and stewards both home and away don't want to deal with them and to be fair neither would I for minimum wage pay because you can guarantee that when it started to kick off the other minority who want a fight with anybody would back the piss heads up. The boys in blue should sort the problem out after all it is an offence to try to enter or be inside a football ground while intoxicated by either drink or drugs. But nothing will be done so the sensible fans who just want to go and watch the football in a comfortable safe environment will continue to suffer from the moronic minority and or being treated by stewards as if they are part of the moronic minority.

What a surprise to hear of such behaviour by our away following…

It’s about time the club identified them and stopped selling them tickets.

It’s why I’ve not been that fussed on taking my son to away games despite him being desperate to go.

You and me both. It would be interesting to see an analysis done of how many fans are put off attending away games because of our sizeable cohort of morons. I bet it is a decent number.

Not a nice experience at times but won’t stop me attending away matches. I felt for the stewards as they were called c*nts and told to get a proper job when they tried to sort out the standing in the aisles and blocking people’s views. Then I had fans behind me calling our players spast*cs if they made a bad pass. Some of the people who go spend their whole time so pi**ed that they fall asleep or walking up and down buying food/ drinks then going to the loo and not watching the match. I watched two women who spent about 80 minutes eating chips and stood with their backs to the match looking up at the crowd and standing with the steward- why bother going? There are some really lovely people and we have some great fans but we also have some absolute idiots who are racist and pretty much every ist under the sun who think they are hard in a big group and spoil what should be a joyous occasion watching the Reds win away.

Would also be interesting how much us as a club we speak to our away opposition about our own away support. We should be telling them to make sure all fans can see the game and are sat in the correct seat.

All good reasons why I never attend an away game especially if I have to go behind the goal. If I’ve paid to see a match that’s what I’m entitled to see - not the back of some numbskull’s head
