What a shithole, just watching MOTD and thinking all those years in the PL and they've done nothing with it, yet spend more on one player than it costs to build a stand. Did a bit of research and found they're finally doing something. https://www.cpfc.co.uk/crystal-palace-main-stand-redevelopment/
Imagine Wednesday building a new stand and claiming it would make Hillsborough "a stadium the whole of South Yorkshire can be proud of."
So what? It may or may not be a S***hole, but I bet their fans prefer going to a S***hole with a team competing in the Premier League for the last 13 years, rather than a glossy new stadium in League one like Derby County or Bolton...or countless teams in the Championship,
I doubt they’ve got any option to rebuild given it’s location, always seems an amazing atmosphere especially in the plastic fans league - they look like proper locals who love their tradition, they’d probably man the barricades if they tried to relocate.
It's a gamble they have to take though.. there are quite a few in the Premier League who haven't taken that route unless forced by lack of capacity. Even some of the traditional big hitters, Liverpool, Everton.. some might say Man U haven't spent much on their grounds for a long time until recent plans.
Love the stadium . Not a soulless bowl like most in the premier league and as one of the best atmospheres in England .
Well done for getting one. My only time there was at the end of the 96/97 season when we could have theoretically gone up that day. The food kiosks were an absolute farce. One side of the window for hot food, the other side only crisps. Absolutely no indication that this was the case until you got to the front. Cue lots of hangry people. I was one of the poor tw@ts in the "crisps only" queue.
Funny side Palace. Huge catchment area been the only major side in South London yet despite having some cracking players they’ve never seemed like they’ve tried to expand & build the club to be bigger than it is.
