For those of you who are now praising Devante as if he's God's gift I do hope you're not the same posters who were slagging him off big time in his early days here. If you are then your hypocrisy knows no bounds and I guess you'll never heed the cries of "be patient"....ever.
Well said. patience amongst football fans is a rare commodity. the redeeming fact is that the idiots on here who show no patience are in a tiny minority of the 11000 who turn up every other week.
Come sit near me, it's incessant. Starts in the first minute and is a constant stream of him being lazy, not caring, not pressing, useless first touch, terrible passing, not being a team player.
I know this won't be popular but I reported the Max Watters is garbage thread. In my books it's not acceptable to have that on our forum. See what comes back from Admin. We just need to show patience with Watters we know he can score goals and I see him putting in the effort, he does make a few mistakes but that will come with confidence which Cole now has in bucket loads.
Can he not agree terms with a new team in January with his contract being up in the Summer? If so I say he might just stay and finish the job this season if we are in the mix. He can agree a lucrative deal with a championship club in January whilst his stock is high and get a promotion on his CV and move after the season is done with everyone's blessing. Everyone wins
The problem is if the lucrative contract is conditional on him passing a medical in the summer, meaning he's going to be paranoid about injuring himself in the second half of the season.
So we sell him in January pocket £500000 because that's probably the most we'd be offered for a player out of contract in the summer even though he may have 15+ goals by Christmas and risk the £6 to £8 million promotion would bring in. Only a an incompetent fool would do that. He'll be gone by the 01/02/24 then .
Middlesborough are said to be among the ones interested. If we could do a deal involving Liam then I wiuld be up for that.
This boards always been same and it's the 1st time I've ever seen people call for admin to sort it. Last season and more so season before Cole got alot of stick on here and social media, now he's scoring watters is the focus, before Cole victor was the scapegoat, before him cavare, Thiam.... the list goes on.
Age old problem. Unfortunately no one has a crystal ball. He could also rupture his ACL the first game after the window shuts and be out for the season. He might down tools if he doesn't get a move, and have a dip in form. If Cole's head isn't in staying and pushes for a move in Jan which he doesn't get, it's hard to imagine he would then maintain the same type of form for the rest of the season. And I suspect it wouldn't take a huge dip, for fans to then start saying 'if his head's not in it, he needs dropping'. Personally think the move will depend on how hard Cole pushes for it. I think if he wants to go, he'll be gone.
Keep him till end of season. £500k I’m Jan or 6M for promotion in May with possibility of he staying to play in championship.
What guarantee can you give that Cole will score loads of goals from January onwards and bring us promotion. Also are you sure that no one else can score goals if we sell Cole and bring money in to the club and give another forward a starting place for the second half of the season. Personally I would offer him a 3 year contract and pay rise but if he doesn't sign then goodbye. Yours the incompetent fool.
I think this rule only applies if the new deal is with a club in a different association, i.e. a foreign club.
BFC Can't and won't compete with Clubs like Wigan and Fowls trebbling players wages. Can BFC offer him a deal for him to agree to stay. Personally I don't think we can. 28 years old last big pay cheque, he will go in January or end of season, without a doubt. I would rather him stay ,however I just don't realistically see this will happen. Another Keiffer Moore Sam Winnall conundrum.
I realise like you that we can't won't compete trebling wages, i am happy with that and so i would prefer to bring money in to the club rather than lose a player for nothing in the summer or is it better in this case to get the full season out of him then just let him go?
We got good money into the club this summer. For what we'd get for him in January IF we are in promotion contention we can and should keep him til the end of season and I'm confident we will.
I understand your view mine just differs, not only will we lose a player with value for free in the summer but will have to go out and buy a replacement with only the summer to bed a new player in rather than bring money in in January and get his replacement up and running straight away. It seems common sense and good business sense to me.
