Now then, I build my own P.C's, I'm ok with Hardware , I recently bought a 4.0 gen SSD to go with my B550 M.S.I. Motherboard. I have a Samsung 970 plus(3.0Gen) & have Windows 11home on it. I reinstalled the old Windows 10home(build1802) to my new SSD 4.0 gen but it will not update to Win10 22H2., I hope this makes sense Any advise will be welcome.
I have a B450 Motherboard, maybe I could give that a go, It may support My Windows Win10 v1802, We'll see.
What’s happening when you try to update? What do you mean by it won’t do it? Are you getting an error message, is it not finding any updates or is it going straight to 11?
It tries to update but doesn't, windows ask's me but it never works, the only error massage was suggesting I need to disable a third party Anti virus but I have not yet installed one.
Have you tried switching it off and on again? Usually does the trick there's a few things to try on Windows site - quite a few other suggestions if you google it too.
disable windows antivirus/defender its auto installed but sometimes if your specs arent strong enough they wont upgrade to 11. download windows pc health check (i think its called) it should show you if you are ok to upgrade to windows 11. also is it a legit windows? if not buy a cheap one, when i mean buy i mean google for a key ;-)
Yep done all that mate, run PC Health check & all ok. Specs are top end mid range & easily handles Windows 11 & a legit copy of windows.
Bloody ell fire, got a B550 M/B which has PCIe gen4 so I bought the above mentioned SSD 990pro to get faster performance & guess what? My AMD Ryzen 2700 doesn't run PCIe gen4 , a could ruwer.
School boy error that. Get yourself an upgrade, 2nd gen is knocking on a bit now anyway. I got Will a Ryzen 7 5700x a few months ago, prices aren't as mad now generally as they were a few years ago (I paid about £160) and we sold his old one on eBay (Ryzen 3 3200g).
