He's and odd one indeed. I'll say this though, flicking through various news channels, GB News seem to be more balanced in the views of the guests than other channels like the Beeb or Sky who only ever put one side of a discussion to air and everyone agrees.

Their 2 breakfast news presenters had polar opposite views last week and were having a proper ding dong. Same with the guests the had on.

You very rarely get that on the BBC or Sky because they have to toe the narrative. So I don't mind every now and again watching a bit of GB News. It's good to hear different views on issues.

 

Indefensible and the interviewer - and producer(s) - are equally culpable for not only allowing it but for not challenging it at the time. Their apology is too little and they should be serious consequences for their behaviour.

WTF, Yes, perhaps all the other channels should give Tory MPs their own show, it’s not enough that most of media and tv are Tory sympathisers/ owned but to accuse the other channels of one-sided by comparison is a feking joke

It would appear that the apology put out Wootton doesn’t actually mean anything when you have been taking the pi$$ via WhatsApp with Fox. Both of them should have been suspended

 

You have to watch all news with a sceptical eye and unfortunately too many people don't want to or don't have the capacity for critical thinking. GB News is no different, nothing wrong with watching it for a different political perspective as long as you engage your own thinking. Fox on the other hand made some basic sexist comment which would be boring chat down the local boozer with the sexists idiots you'd encounter, so deserves to be admonished.

 

Dan Wootton? The New Zealand born TV presenter and "journalist" who hounded Caroline Flack to her death and has been accused of using porn actors to get x-rated pictures of colleagues - enough to be currently suspended from the Daily Mail but *not* GB News?

Who mentioned Tory MP's shows? On the whole they are less one sided than the others for sure. You seem to be very defensive of the other news outlets. I prefer to keep an open mind.

 

I literally don't know where to start with this, other than it seems to have been written in an alternative universe where GB News isn't a vehicle for pro-Tory, far-right politics with a line-up of Tory MP presenters, far-right cranks and sexual predators (allegedly) such as the odious Wootton.

This govt and many in the Tory Party doesn’t want ‘ordinary folk’ to either have the capacity or learn the capacity for critical thinking, hence the attack on things like Channel 4 and political comedy shows such as Mock the Week. GB News is very different and not for the right reasons

 

You are entitled to your view of course open minded or not. Oh but the BBC, yeah outstanding reputation of staff behaviour. Sky not far behind either.

 

I’m not defensive of the news outlets, indeed, I have been quite critical of them, but to use them as some sort of barometer to highlight the impartiality/ balance of GB News presentation is rather far-fetched, except if your political leanings are similar to them

 

Not really, last time I watched it, they had people putting their point across, completely against the views of the person across the table. What I'm saying is, that literally never seems to happen on the likes of the BBC or Sky, where most of the time it's just a big love in.

 

Just remember the BBC deliberately altered the footage at Orgreave - a vehicle for pro-Tory politics if ever there was one.
Also Question Time - Fiona Bruce is clearly a Tory plant, the head of the BBC gave Boris Johnson a "loan" which has never been paid back as far as I can tell. The list goes on, the BBC is a Tory propaganda machine.

 

I think the BBC cosy up to whoever is in government to try and ensure the licence fee isn't scrapped.

 

I spent my whole adult life until leaving the UK listening to Radio 4 day after day having debates between Labour and Tory supporters, Brexit, Remain supporters argue each other to a pointless standstill. The idea that they just present one side of an argument is bizarre.
