I think all fish and chips are around this mark these days. Probably some kind of brexit related bonus , like all the others. I used to go to shaws years ago and thought it was excellent
Tunstall Cross in Wombwell best around here. I drive from Royston to go. Owner keeps prices very reasonable too but be prepared to queue. Best places have more people.
Tunstall Cross chippy Wombwell £7.20 for fish, chips and large sauce. And pretty delicious too. Unfortunately for my waistline straight across from my house
Tunstall Cross still only open for a couple of hours at lunch & tea? Lad I went to school with was the fryer for a while.
Shaw's is good unless you have to get out of Thornely Avenue onto a 40 mph road with no visibility either way due to cars parked right up to the junction. The council and the police won’t do anything about it until someone is killed or seriously injured. Apparently
You've obviously not read the new highway code. If you're fetching fish and chips, or picking up/dropping off your kids at school, you're entitled to park anywhere and at any angle you like, regardless of whether you block any other vehicles. You can park diagonally across a zebra crossing or at a bus stop if you wish. Once parked, you're allowed to sit in your car eating your fish and chips for as long as necessary, before chucking the leftovers out of the window and driving off.
Went there on Monday it was closed. Went to Gawber ,fish and a fishcake in breadcrumbs £ 6.70 so run of the mill really.
