Zero because he couldn't even follow the most basic referee instruction of not running in front of players

Add that to the absolute blatant way that he put his hand to his pocket, realised which player it was and took it away and it was in my opinion clear corruption as he chose not to apply the laws for reasons known only to himself

Definitely a penalty. I've a bit of sympathy generally for Officials as essentially they are trying to deal with 22 Cheats cheating alongside some one eyed cheats in the dugouts. But even accepting that point, they were very poor yesterday.

Gets an extremely generous 4 for missing what looked like several blatant penalties for us, constantly getting in the way (seemingly only when we were attacking), bottling giving a second card to Dougall (I think?) and letting that t0sser Husband influence him throughout the second half.

Actually thought he let the game flow quite well and didn't give many soft free kicks to either side, hence not getting lower than a 4.

The penalty was correct in my opinion, both at the time and having watched it back. I also don't think the handball shouts were penalties either, each of them far too close with no reasonable chance of avoidance.

However, the penalty shout for the two handed shove was clear cut for me. They seem to be letting this go more and more if it's in the box. That would have been a foul anywhere else on the pitch.

I also saw him clearly reach for his pocket to book Dougall and then realise he had already booked him so bottled it. The booking for Cole was ludicrous and the booking of their keeper for time wasting was harsh given that a kid in the Ponty had just chucked the ball the other side of the net.

Not a zero by any stretch if we are being truly objective but definitely not great. 4/10

Blackpool penalty was correct. I don't think we had a clear penalty shout. He booked loads of Blackpool players to not let them get away with stuff. Like near the end when he booked two in seconds with the foul and kicking the ball away.

Their keeper was booked because the ball was thrown, he picked it up, walked a few yards, dropped it and went to get a ball off one of the cones a further few yards away. He was taking the piss.

The problem though is at both ends of the scale. There's twunts giving 10 each time and also a number of people giving 0 every time. We have had some half decent refs this season and they still got 0 from several posters which ic clearly nonsense and skewing the results as much as the 10s.

As already suggested, 0 should be reserved for Willard type performances which are very few and far between. Not because an otherwise half competent ref didn't give us a penalty shout.

Thanks for taking the time to explain your reasoning. But the issue still remains as to what mark you'd give for a Willard-esque circus. Unless you'd be going into minus points?

No it wasn’t. He got chucked the ball and then chucked it back behind the goal again and went to get one of the others off the side of the pitch.

Poor performance. No problem with the Penalty O’Keeffe flew in and gave their player a chance to make sure he fell over him.

Doubt we would have been given it but most refs give those to most teams. But he got so much else wrong we had at least 4 decent penalty shouts and I’d have said 2 were really clear. The push on Cosgrove and where their defender controlled the bouncing ball with his hand clear Pens. The Push on Styles was a pen for me but never expect to get them though we’ve had them given against us on occasion. There was also a goal bound shot stopped with an arm though it was fairly close range. Again seen em given. 0 out of 4 to us. 1out of 1 for them. But he was poor apart from that. Several times he could have played advantage but instantly blew his whistle
Booking Cole on their players say so seemed weird not booking Dougal when he realised he would need a red was pathetic and generally let Blackpool get away with far too much

Torn between a 2 and a 3 and finally decided he was only worth 2

He didn’t book the player that kicked the ball away, I think he’d already been booked as well. If that two- handed push in the back of Cosgrove isn’t a clear penalty shout then we’ll never ever get a penalty again

    That’s not what I said.

What he did was allow the idiotic player to foul him. It’s not his job to do his best to get out of the way of a mistimed lunge.

He has form - didn't give us a stonewall penalty at Plymouth last season, then was almost in tears at Wycombe when Tedic scored late on after he'd been the Chairboys best 'player' all game.

Absolutely woeful. The bias comes through just with his positioning alone - as a ref you are deemed to be in a decent position if you are 10-15 yards from play but when we had the ball in their half he was typically 30-40 yards behind play and hence missed/chose not to give things. When they had the ball up front he was busting his ample gut to almost play as their second striker he was so close to play. He was that close he even tackled our defenders three times!

Should there be a guidance appendix alongside these polls in future so that people are informed as to how they are allowed to vote?

People are allowed to vote how they see fit but I’d love anyone who has given yesterdays ref 10 to explain why
