    Yes, the posting of crowds shows just how much we were bucking the trend at the time. We were literally one of a handful of clubs who were 'thriving'. If we could have just gone up when we were so close ........ who knows what the limits would have been!

    47 years ago (1976) John Peachey and a Brian Joicey penalty earned a 2-1 win against Huddersfield Town. It was also Neil Warnock's debut and I think Barnsley’s 1,000th win in the Football League.

    Yes if only. We were one result short of beating Norwich to promotion - as in if we had beaten them we would have leap frogged their points tally

    In the words of Max Boyce “I know, cos I was there”.

    A truly unbelievable game and a fantastic win. Sadly, however, things gradually started to go down hill. Tony Cunningham wasn’t anywhere near the same standard as Big Trev.

    And apparently Trev regretted his move away - confirmed by The King himself when he did An Evening with Ronnie Glavin at The Lamproom.
