Ain't going to happen and he admits it. but.:- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Jurgen Klopp has called for Liverpool's match against Tottenham to be replayed after the VAR failed to award Luis Diaz's goal which was ruled out for offside. Klopp said: "It's really important that as big as football is and important as football is we deal with it in a proper way. "All the people involved, the on-field referee, linesman, fourth official and especially in this case VAR, didn't do that on purpose. It was an obvious mistake and I think there would have been solutions for it afterwards. "Some people probably don't want me to say, but not as the manager of Liverpool so much, more as a football person, the only outcome should be a replay. That's how it is. It probably will not happen." Diaz was flagged offside after scoring but replays showed he was actually onside although Darren England, the VAR, mistakenly believed the on-field decision had been to award the goal, leading him to tell Simon Hooper, the referee, that the check was complete. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I may be dreaming (I can't find the incident) But wasn't there a game at Swillsbro. Where a goal was scored. The opposing team kicked off, only for the ref. To cancel out the goal for some reason. And bring back play to another incident prior. ?
It ain't going to happen Jurgen. Think of the precedent if they did "make" Tottenham replay the game. It wasn't Tottenham's fault either.
It was a terrible error, but if we replayed every game with refereeing errors in it we'd never get past week 1 of the season
The difference in this one is that VAR meant to give a goal, and thought it had, but Darren England dropped a bollock. Every other decision has been contentions/subjective etc (like the sending offs in the same game) or a penalty that could have gone either way. It's still a bit batshit to want it replaying mind.
There was a Brighton game last season where they drew the lines wrong resulting in a goal being wrongly disallowed. De Zerbi didn't start crying to the media for a replay.
People have to be careful what they wish for. Can you imagine winning a match (at 5pm on a Saturday) but not actually knowing you'd won until a week later? Also, as pointed out above, if that happens, I demand in every game we've lost (but mainly the Wembley match).
Tbh not a lot wrong with VAR. it’s the incompetent clown who are put in charge of it. An off side is not even debatable. Draw the lines and it’s either off or on.
And Arsenal against Brentford the same thing with Toney. Happens regular. To suggest a replay is ludicrous
I think the main issue with VAR is that the rules are very strictly adhered to, where as when it's not in use, you might get the benefit of the doubt if your right nipple is offside.
Klopp is an absolute clown. Really embarrassing stuff. No-one has benefitted from cr@p VAR decisions more than LiVARpool. Salah scores a dodgy penalty for them every other game. They need to just get rid of it. When it comes to offsides, The officials are just guessing when the ball leaves the passing players foot so to give people off by a chest hair is utter pants in my opinion. The weird and wonderful and inconsistent handball decisions infuriate me as well.
Fair enough. I'd very much like VAR to have second look at THAT Liverpool home game we had in the prem. If we're making daft requests
That's what I mean though. That goal was wrongly disallowed by VAR. This one was actually given as a goal by VAR. its the only time it's happened. I think I'm trying to explain it badly - because I'm rubbish at this kind of thing. It's still daft to ask for a replay like.
A part of me hopes VAR just continues to get worse. Something as mad as a decision to replay a game. Something big enough for it to implode and get the whole thing scrapped. You'd then have exactly the same people back at square one, giving it 'we urgently need technology to help the refs'
