I’ve been to a couple of Opens , had a great time , you see the interaction between player and caddie , we followed Zak Johnson round a few holes , he was blaming every bad shot and putt on the caddie
If her surname is any of Callaghan, Lonergan, Murtagh or Cain then there's a reasonable chance we are! Although that list of surnames probably accounts for about a quarter of Mayo!
Definitely the mcg on Boxing Day for the ashes. I’ve done two days at home ashes tests, (old Trafford 05, was there to see Vaughan’s century) and Headingley 09 - we went to the Tap part way through the afternoon as the Aussies were absolutely pummelling us and they closed the bars under the western terrace! Went back an hour or two later. An F1 race abroad is on the list, as I said on the other thread, I doubt I’ll go to Silverstone again now.
Would love to be in Perth, Australia, with an old mate of mine watching Freemantle, (Freeo'). Aussie Rules. Mental game. Great atmosphere.
An Ashes test, anywhere, but like others probably MCG. India v Pakistan cricket. A Blue Jays Baseball game, preferably World Series. Ryder Cup. Big England match at Twickenham. World darts.
My lot went to Kidderminster first, then they went to wreak havoc in Batley in the 1860's and 70's... some stayed in Batley and by the 1890's some had spread to Barnsley, Kinsley and Fitzwilliam.
I’d like to do an IPL game, bet the atmosphere is unbelievable. I want to see England cricket play in every test playing country (up to 4 so far). Basically any foreign cricket would do.
Probably, they're from Killala village 5 miles out. Ballina is the nearest thriving metropolis. Jack Charlton lived there, massive mural there of him now.
We did a a one-dayer in at Barbados in 2019, just after a test at St Lucia. Can recommend it! A New Zealand series is one I really want to do, but I'm trying not to fly so much any more, so might be a tricky one... I'd also like to see an MLB game.
Be careful. It's on the fringes of one of the more dangerous parts of town, plus it's been turned into a homeless camp for RVs. If you do go, remember, apart from the former home of the 49ers, it is the site of the last Beatles concert.
I’ve done 2 ashes tours and they are amazing, including Australian open tennis. I’ve done FA Cup final and Euros with England as well but last years Open at St Andrews was the best sporting event I’ve been to. Got tickets for next years open Sunday and properly looking forward to it.
I would say, like many others, the Boxing Day test at the MCG, but I have no intention of ever going to Australia, so I’ll keep it closer to home. For the past 20 years me and my mate have said “next year we’ll go to the Yorkshire Festival in Scarborough” but we still haven’t been. Maybe next year…
