Very refreshing today to listen to 2 opposition comnentators that told the game exactly how it was and didn't allow silly bias to enter the equation' well done lads whoever you were..
I listen to the other teams Comms for most away games, there's been some decent ones. Very fair, unbiased Comms. I think ours are poor. There I've said it.
You should have heard the ones when we played Northampton(if i remember correctly) and Wigan. You'd think they were their managers. Always bias though when it's your own club. It's just natural
I like Callum as well. Matt’s not that bad although sometimes I do wonder whether he’s walking the same game as the rest of us
I too thought they were very good, they knew all our players names, a bit of history of them as well. They praised the reds more than once and were very fair minded. The Cambridge United commentators were also very good and said more than once what a good team Barnsley were. Makes a refreshing change from some of the more rancid commentators (Remember Willo anyone? )
I've just watched the game back, their commentary was spot on. One of the better ones I've heard. I always prefer to listen to the oppositions commentary, just because I like to take an interest in the opinions they have of their own players, who I might not necessarily have heard of before.
The Northampton co-commentator was so biased it was unreal. He wanted John McAtee arrested for GBH which I found amusing.
Sounds similar to the one at Cheltenham, he seriously wanted three of the reds sent off and one arrested for GBH
The Cambridge ones were great I thought. Fair, knowledgeable and quite amusing. And like you say, have credit where it’s due. I’m not taken with our I-follow commentators. But I did really enjoy listening to Wayne Goodison during the behind closed doors games. Thought he added a lot of experience and knowledge.
