A mate of mine has just posted this on Twitter/X. Anyone else had a similar email? Intrigued as to how widespread this experience is. https://x.com/lee_peach/status/1711463006880538874?s=20
The club's decision to jump into bed with fanatics despite knowing their reputation showed how valuable customer/supporter satisfaction was to them but their silence in the face of the ensuing **** show has been nothing short of shameful
I cancelled £150 worth of orders as the delivery dates just kept moving, last date I was given was 19th October for an order placed in July.
I'm glad i cancelled mine. A month waiting, just for the date to be put back twice isn't good enough.
I ordered the full kit for my lad. I've had the shirt, the socks arrived on Saturday, still waiting for the shorts. I haven't bought a kit for years but the retro sucked me in. I won't be buying another no matter what changes they make.
We ordered all the kits for ar young en, we’re still waiting for the black one. The red one turned up 40 days late and the white one kept getting knocked back so we cancelled it and got one from the club shop instead. I work for the firm who delivers for kitbag/fanatics and the amount of complaints you hear of is amazing. I was worried when I saw we had linked up with them.
lets hope all the first teams kit didnt go up in smoke ont bus or we might be laikin skins next game given delivery timescales
As one who understood excuses at the original outset. I can only hope they have the balls to ditch Fanatics. I assume they looked at the high profile clubs such as Villa. Everton And others as the benchmark. Rather than the American market. They (Fanatics) must be falling well short of fulfilling the contract on delivery of products. And cancelling orders is beyond forgiveness having been paid up front. The club need to act now. I can only guess what is being said behind the scenes. Cos if nowt is. That is unforgivable also. I can assure the club, the ones that pre order next season will be next to nil. And shop sales absolutely ruined if not available for summer holidays at least.
Fanatics have an awful reputation. You only have to spend a few minutes online reading their ratings on numerous review websites to see it was going to be a bad idea. We were never this bad when we did things for ourselves in house.
Club have said nothing at all on the issue. Been going on about it for months and nothing. Another well in from the board.
I’ve made a complaint to their customer services (customer.services@fanatics-intl.com) as I’ve had my black shirt cancelled by them despite ordering on the morning that it became available. I’m not letting it go so I reply to every “corporate” response from them. I’ve been given a variety of “offers”, eg 25%, 30% etc - now being given a £50 voucher so I’ve “bought” the white shirt - we’ll see! My red shirt & one of my 2 grandsons shirt have arrived - the other hasn’t (though I have an email to say it’s been “shipped”. Waiting for the 2 kids keeper strips as well
I have no connection with Fanatics, never used them, don't care one way or another about their reputation, but I really don't believe the problems are their fault. Seems like there's a supply issue and that's either the fault of the manufacturer, the distribution firm or the club. If Fanatics were sat on a load of gear and no one was receiving it then it would be their fault. But that hasn't been the case. They haven't had any gear to send out. They've been told when they will receive it and, in good faith, informed customers when their order will arriv, based on that date. But they haven't received the merch so haven’t been able to send it out. They've then received a new date but the shipment didn't make that date either, or the next, or the next. They're sat there unable to fulfill their orders because they haven't got any stock. And the date they're told it will arrive keeps getting pushed back. Either the manufacturer is failing to meet their estimates for the order to be completed or distribution is delaying getting the order to Fanatics or the club did not place the order with enough lead time to get it out on time. I guess Fanatics, without any stock, could have simply been making up dates for when they guessed they'd receive the stock, but I don't know any company who goes out of their way to make themselves look bad when there's nothing they can do about it. But they could be that daft.
I ordered a black shirt from the Online store on the 13 Sept when it clearly showed they were in stock. I spoke to Fanatics about 10 days ago and was told it was a supply issue but should receive the shirt in a week or two. I’ve decided that I no longer want the shirt so I rang today and they gladly offered a full refund within 2-7 days together with a 30% discount voucher lasting 6 months. Hope this info may help
Said a bit back now on another thread that England Athletics were having the same issues and they are nothing to do with Fanatics or the same manufacturer, which made me question is it the manufacturers at source etc, doesn’t excuse poor customer service though. We ordered our vests in Feb and they came last month.
I certainly don't think Fanatics are blameless in this, as this seems to be a consistent experience for non-BFC related transactions too. I ordered an NFL shirt from them on 1st September. Yesterday, after my second chase for an update on it in the last couple of weeks, I requested a refund after discovering that it had still not been processed and they were awaiting stock to come in before commencing the processing of a customised name/number combination on the shirt once it arrived. This was for an item showing with a delivery estimate of 3-4 days at the point of order and a name/number combination selected from a dropdown list of the current squad. The only department which seems to work well there is the ability of the live chat team to issue refunds almost at will. Clearly they are well used to doing so. Quite why BFC decided to shift our merchandising through them is beyond me. We have nowhere near the scale of demand that they're set up to deal with (not that they seem to be good at anything) and the experience to date seems to have been increased prices, order delays and cancellations on a widespread scale.
