With a joint Turkey and Italy bid cleared for 2032.

Interestingly, England want to qualify for the tournament along with the other home nations, but there are only two spots in case a team fails to qualify...

Daft decision that means a sole English bid probably won't happen until 2044 at the earliest, nearly 50 years on from Euro 96 and with us unlikely to host a World Cup in that timeframe either. Should've been a sole English bid or a combined celtic bid.

Personally, I’d prefer it to be abroad. It’s not the same having a holiday in Birmingham when the tournament is one. :D

I do think this could be brilliant for the UK and Ireland though, I can’t see why it wouldn’t bring our nations together which have been divided for so long. Politically this is going to be brilliant.

I hope England still have to qualify though, the meaningless friendlies are a killer to watch. :( Unless we see the likes of Brazil/ Argentina away .

How many decent size stadiums are there in Ireland? There's one in Wales, 3 in Scotland.

All the nations will play qualifiers and 2 places will be reserved, so whilst there is a strong possibility of a host nation not featuring, there will be at least 2.

Well that’s one way of guaranteeing we never ever host another tournament

I always hoped this British bid would happen, because Euro '96 was a success. And we are all capable of hosting another Euros tournament, with the stadiums we have.

I prefer it. We’ll still get all the big games but some other countries get some games too which they would never get on their own.

Ireland, NI, Scotland and Wales could probably host alone. You have four decent stadiums in Scotland, if you include Murrayfield. The Aviva and possibly Croke Park in Ireland, the Principality in Wales. That's enough to host the later stages. Then you could look at including some smaller grounds for the groups. Wrexham would be an idea given their popularity, it would depend if they wanted to scale up to 25k+. Casement Park is planned for 34k. Cardiff 33k. Swansea 21k but I think it could be expanded. In '00, '04 and '08 the smallest stadia were around 28-32k so not beyond the realms of possibility.

Then an English Euros down the line including places like Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham, Bristol, Southampton, Sunderland. Obviously they'd need some work.

Not a fan. Any major tournament should take place in just the one country. No keen on the latest in thing of them taking place in multiple places.

I think it's a good idea otherwise you're left with only about 6 counties capable of holding a modern euros tournament.

You could, but the chances of winning 2 euros seems small compared to winning one. It could be decades before you manage to win them both.

    Pretty lame bunch of stadiums

Etihad and the new Everton ground over Old trafford and Anfield? Surely our USP is our history - those famous old grounds should be part of it

(Might kick United into modernising Old Trafford too)

Old Trafford is a decaying mess that the owners have left to rot. Gary Neville has been outspoken about this.

Speaking of hosts, looking likely Saudi Arabia will get the 2034 WC, between them and Australia from the oceanic countries
