There’ll be over 30 runners so it’s more a spectacle than a gambling race. Bear in mind that you may be able to get EW bets up to 10 places, so what are people’s thoughts ??
A race where you could have ten picks and still not find the winner! The jumps trainers have a good record, and Pied Piper with Ryan booked takes the eye. But Hughie Morrison looks to have been bringing Vino Victrix (second in this last year) along quietly with an eye on this race. Elsewhere, my speculative hunch for tomorrow concerns the Rockingham Stakes (1.15) at York. At £450,000, Bondy must surely be the most expensive yearling ever bought by Bond Thoroughbreds Ltd. After a promising debut run at York he won very cosily at Pontefract three weeks ago. Trained by Barnsley lad Bryan Smart, he turns up in this open-looking Listed race and is currently on offer at 14/1 with Bet 365. He may be better than those odds suggest.
Goshen has never quite fulfilled his hurdling expectations but I think he should be in the mix if in right mood. Wordsworth has that bit of class and looks an excellent ew prospect. I note your comments about Bondy and will go for him
There appears to have been strong support for the Gosden newcomer Assailant in the 3.05 York. This one is well bred and those to have raced so far don't appear to have shown the form required for a Class 2 York maiden. 9/4 now, which looks like coming under further pressure.
Well you'd think it was already tucked in his saddle bags judging by the betting. 6/4 now! Edit: Just realised why - the paper favourite is now out!
I like the look of The very man, Goshen, both each way but my banker each way bet is Nakasamma 2.15 t'day good luk all of you. Glad i dint av a bet t'day,
Great stuff Fonzie! Good spot. Nay, Mr D. Just ran green, which is always a danger with first-time-outers, alas! Bondy was a non-runner in the first, but I'd advise keeping an eye open in case it runs again this season. City of Troy was awesome in the Dewhurst - best since Frankel.
I had Eben Shadaad, Montassib and The Shunter in a 20p e/w lucky 15. Paid out £73.97. Haven't done bad today. Couple of winners at Chepstow too.
