A Blackpool win keeps us in 3rd. Not a bad signing that Jordan Rhodes. I think I might swap him for Max Watters any day.

Huddersfield have a mid loan recall clause, so Blackpool will only have him until January. Moore is bound to want to have a look at him.

Rhodes was always going to score for fun at this level. He’d get a bag full in our side.

Yes and there’s the Barnsley connection there with dad Andy being an ex-keeper for us. We should have taken him off the mighty Owls when he failed to fire them up the league

Also the Barnsley connection being that he was on our books as a youngster, but left when his old man went to Ipswich (iirc) and they got him off us for a nominal fee as a junior

    I believe we got comp
I believe we got compo for Rhodes when he left not so sure about Maguire. May be wrong but I think Maguire may only have played trial games at youth but never commited to us ( due to Admin at the time) whereas Rhodes had (not so much) signed for us but was commited ( or whatever the under 18's do for a club)

Here's what happened in his own words.

It was around the age of eight when I was scouted by Barnsley. It was about a 40-minute drive from my house and at that time they had a great academy and really good facilities.

I was at Barnsley for a couple of years and I can remember there was talk of Barnsley going into administration and we didn't know whether the academy was going to become a centre of excellence so I looked to move on and went to Sheffield United at 11 years old.

When we played Blackpool he was stood down by the east stand during a break in play getting dee dar chants. He laughed it off and said back to the crowd "I'm one of you" which was good of him. All in good humour with some back and forth.
