Been setting up my old laptop this week to turn it into a retro games machine, got about 40,000 games on it at present. Enjoying playing all my old Megadrive games in particular from back in the day.

What's everyone's favourite blasts from the past?

Emlyn Hughes International Soccer on the Spectrum. Lo-fi brilliance.

    EA Hockey on the Megadrive.

Do you have a compatible joypad for your laptop?

I've been on - and off - a big fan of MAME and the old arcade games which I spend far too much money on in my youth. If I ever start travelling properly with work going to invest in a joystick to work with my laptop on it.

And wasted quite a bit of time on OOlite - an expandible version of Elite.

I bought a controller similar to an Xbox one which just configures to the majority of systems automatically so its done the job so far :)

Daley Thompson's Decathlon for Commodore 64. I reckon I bust a joystick every 3 months playing that in the 80s. Happy days :D

Table tennis on my black and white monitor. :) can't remember the console name. Then upgraded to an Amstrad CPC 464. Was going to chuck it int bin after storing it int loft for umpteen yrs. Lad said put it on Ebay. Got £100 less fees. Around £80 I think I recieved. (The Amstrad I mean.) Binned the other I think.

I've mentioned this time and again on here, but I'd highly recommend Retrodome in town for anyone into their old games. Tons of old arcade cabinets. My personal favourites of theirs are Phoenix, Galaga, Q*Bert and Smash TV. They've got the old Star Wars ones, big 4 player Simpsons, TMNT and X-Men cabinets, and more modern stuff like Daytona USA, Time Crisis, House of the Dead, Tekken etc. Well worth the £12 entry. And there's a bar.

Yes mate! They do have old consoles too if that's more your thing, and a pinball room.

Same but got it setup on an Nvidia shield, got about the same in games but only have about 100 for each system in my gaming library at anyone time.

PS2 which never seemed likely at one point in emulation is now available through aethersx on android and pcsx2 on pc, need some tweaking on certain games but playable.

I use dolphin emulator for GameCube, where resident evil 4 is my go to game but for everything else I use retrox frontend on android which makes it very easy and Launchbox on pc

I'm not really into computer games, but we've got one of these in our pub and it's tremendous. Highly recommend the firm, the guy is brilliant if anyone is looking for one.
