It feels like about 8 years since our last match, which is actually the same length of time since we last visited Leyton Orient. The bookies have the best away side in the league as 6/4 favourites to extend our unbeaten away run to 11 matches (including a play off game). The hosts, who have the 14th best home record in the league so far, with 9 points from 5 games, are 9/5 outsiders. At home, Orient have beaten 3 sides in the bottom third of the table, and been beaten comprehensively by 2 sides currently in the top 6. Last season, they accumulated 51 points at Brisbane Road, with only Stevenage getting more points in league 2 on home soil. This was 9 more points than the next best home side. The majority of the meetings between the reds and Orient occurred prior to the 2nd world war, where we were both 2nd tier mainstays. We were last in the same division in 14/15, where the reds garnered 4 points from the O's, despite a red card in both games for the reds (Ross Turnbull and Milan Lalkovic). Devante Cole was on target for the reds in the home tie that season, in a 2-0 win which also saw Conor Hourihane register. The next previous season where we were in the same division was in 81/82, where the reds registered the double over the O's, a first since 1927. A 3-1 victory at Brisbane road ended a winless streak of 7 games and 23 years. Referee Peter Wright has issued 35 yellows and 1 red card so far this season in 10 games. Of the two sides, he most recently took charge of an Orient game, their goalless draw at Newport over the last Christmas period. He took charge of Barnsley's 2-1 defeat at Derby early last season, issuing just a solitary yellow card to Conor McCarthy on that occasion. That was his only Barnsley appointment. In his handful of Orient games, they've never been the winning side (4 draws 1 defeat). We've made a habit of grinding out results away at the less fancied sides in the league so far this season. Orient have struggled at home against arguably the better sides so far. Whilst they've started the season quite brightly, I fancy us to continue our good away run here. I'm going for 0-2 with Cole and Kane on the scoresheet.
This will be my view for the match, already tried the dodgy stick and it works, doesn't kick off till 6pm here tho, so no spoilers . 2-0 to us.
