I was a bit sceptical about this reboot that has landed on Paramount+. Reboots rarely work but I think this will prove to be a winner. I thought long and hard about subscribing but, as an Amazon Prime member (free with Vodafone) it was easy to sign up to their Seven Day Free Trial offer. I thought...well, why not? If it's unwatchable I will just cancel Paramount+ at the end of the seven day trial and nothing lost.

Well, I watched Episodes One and Two yesterday, and again today, and while it will never be as good as the original I think it's pretty good. Kelsey Grammar plays Frasier brilliantly of course and all the new characters are growing on me already. Niles's and Daphne's son David has all of Niles's characteristics, but without the exceptional comic talents of David Hyde Pierce (so far anyway). There's lots of the subtle humour of the previous incarnation and a lovely tribute to "Martin Crane" at the end of the first episode, as well as one for Nick Lyndhurst's loss of his son.

Early days but I am hooked already so am happy to subscribe £7.99 a month for as long as Frasier is on this streaming channel. Maybe there will be other things worth watching as well - not gone looking yet.

He had some good visual parts but they never gave him any decent lines.

I’ve seen this and am a bit pissed off it’s not available on Sky. Might just subscribe. I’m sure the writing will be immense. Frasier was my fav show ……until I discovered ‘Modern Family’. It’s now No 2 in the all time listing.
Only just got into Shitte’s Creek. Another brilliant piece of writing.

It’s worth the £7.99 a month on its own but, as I said, I haven’t delved into what other content is available. I’m certainly going to follow this new Frasier with interest and I hope the rumours are true that some of the old characters might make cameo appearances.

Episode 3 is available from today but it wasn’t there when I looked earlier. Maybe tomorrow.

I might wait until it's all out and then subscribe for a month and binge it. I can't say its worth more than £7.99 in total to me

Great comedy brings together phenomenal writing with a group of actors that just pull it all together. I thought ‘Cheers’ did that but Frasier surpassed it. Modern Family is in the same ilk but imo even sharper. Give yourself 4 episodes to let the characters develop and they will bring you huge pleasure.
Imagine watching a midfield of Glavin, Glavin and Glavin.

I have great difficulty aligning the concepts of great comedy and American TV shows together.
    Must be a generational thing.

I agree, generally, but Frasier is the exception. The writing, acting and production values are sublime. The characters in the original run were just brilliant and I’m hoping that this new generation all pick up the baton and justify bringing it back.

I can probably count on the fingers of one hand the American comedy series that I’ve been a fan of over the years but Frasier is at the top of my list with M.A.S.H. just behind.

I get paramount plus included as I have the movie package.

Watched the first two last week and the third should be on there today.

I’d say it was watchable and ok, but didn’t compel me to praise it hugely.

I’ll probably watch the rest though.

I think I must have been tainted watching the likes of I Love Lucy and Sgt Bilko in the 60's. I have never watched Cheers or Frazier.

Massive fan of Frasier and Cheers before that. I've enjoyed the new series - obviously missing the original cast but life moves on and we have new people around us. Like the new characters - Frasier and Freddie mirrors the relationship Marty had with his son

Watched episode three tonight and it wasn’t quite as good as the first two, but still ok. One thing that amused me was when he got changed at home into the kind of shirt his dad wore often. These leanings to past shows are obviously quite deliberate.
