I think his finish was pure Gold. He was quite Frank and everyone should be quite Incensed that they played Olly Murs on the team bus on the drive home.

I thought, goal aside, he was dreadful. He played better second half but it would have been impossible not to

You really don’t like him do you. Rhetorical.

I have to agree , for the money invested in him I was expecting a little bit more from him.

And to make things worse he walks for nowt at the end of the season.

For the amount we paid for him, coupled with the fact he came from Liverpool, he’s flattered to deceive for the most part. I’ll not be too disappointed if he goes at the EOS for nowt. Just my opinion of course.

I think he’s generally speaking a reliable L1 midfielder who sprinkles a little quality on our play occasionally. He isn’t as good as he thinks he is and doesn’t have the mobility imo to play at a higher level with any degree of success.

I think within those parameters he’s a valuable squad member at L1 level. I wouldn’t necessarily see him as first choice when Luca Is fit but Collins will know his players much better than me.

As mentioned above for the money we allegedly paid he hasn’t been great value.

Agree with all you say ,however walking for nowt leaves a sour taste for me, for the running of the club financially.

That's what's great about this. I totally disagree with you, but also have to admit that I see very little in Adam Phillips, particularly given his form this season. Others don't see it that way, and that's fine.

Phillips is an odd one. When he isn’t contributing with goals and assists he is a complete passenger. And as you say this year he is well out of form. At the same time it’s easy to see why managers pick him because when he contributes he really contributes.

if he hits a purple patch again whatever his relative merits he is a game winning player and given our lack of goal threat (Cole aside) that’s pretty crucial.

Josh Benson is another one who as not lived up to expectations too.
Both signed for substantial fees too.

Thought Phillips was good last season but did dip in form towards the end of season. Hard to leave a player out though who contributes so much with goals and assists especially when other midfielders aren't. Although Collins football is very different to duffs I wonder if it just isn't suiting some players.

His goals tended to come from centrally outside the box. Perhaps he's not getting into those positions in our current set-up. Certainly not worth a starting place at the moment.

I would be starting him and giving him a run of games in the hope he can get back to the form shown last season. But obviously Collins is gaffer not me. I don't think Styles or kane are having great seasons flashes of been great but overall very average. Russell has to start with connell out as he's the only one who seems to be able to break up play.

Think we paid 300k for Benson. I remember at the time Burnley fans saying he was no where near ready for the championship. He has been unlucky with injuries though.

Really? I heard close to a million. Really hope it wasn't anywhere near that figure!

Kane's not impressed me in all the time he's been with us. Looks a tidy player, good touch etc but fails to really have any impact on a game in any area of the field. He's had a few good games, but it is only a few.

Yes hopefully we didn't pay that much although it was at the time conman was overseeing transfers

I thought it was more than 300k but I stand to be corrected, yes he as had bad luck injury wise but if its close to the million like Kane ,I am a little disappointed.
