I'm guessing though that ambulances also need to be on standby for every match, in case a player gets seriously injured or there's a medical emergency in the crowd.
Is Khaled still at the club? There's not been a peep out of him since transfer deadline or maybe the fans forum. With the rumours of him heading back to Sweden has he been placed on gardening leave, despite what the club statement said
I work for an emergency service. If an attendance is above a certain amount they pay for crew. Nothing to do with the football players on the pitch.
I know its near bonfire night band all that, but when they schedule these games I do wish they would pay more attention to the travelling fans needs. They will have been looking to bring a large following given its their biggest game ever plus it would possibly have attracted some neutrals, this will likely have put paid to some travelling. Folk bang on about the 'magic of the cup' for the smaller clubs, then promptly forget about them with the schedules! Its not even as if it will be on ifollow!
I can only surmise that Khaled is on gardening leave and the higher ups haven't told us. Heard pretty much nowt from him since the last fans forum debacle and everything has been tip top since.
Agreed, also it’s not a massive impact on our fans like some are saying on here, its Horsham fans that are really impacted upon. Sadly the F.A. cup as lost a lot of its appeal and maybe only 50% of our season ticket holders would have attended choose what day/time the game was on.....I honestly think some on here are just waiting for an opportunity to have a moan they are that sad
I know silly me actually wanting to go to our games with my son when neither of us live in Barnsley. What a dick i am.
Don’t get the animosity by some posters on here, It’s a fair question to ask why our game and not the others. If the Emergency services can’t cope with the cover for all local games due to be played, then so be it, safety first etc. but it’s not too much to ask why our game and not any of the others.
Why is not being moved to Sunday? Do SYP not know where Horsham is? This is a real kick in the teeth to a semi-pro club, playing one of the biggest games in their history. Many of their fans, all of their school age fans and some of their players are now not going to be able to make it. And for those that can, many will have to take a day’s leave, and there’ll be the additional expense of overnight accommodation on top, unless they fancy getting home at 3 in the morning. It will be a tiring and dangerous drive home for those that do. The club really need to push back on this and ask SYP to give some consideration to those travelling such a long way. I’d quite like to hear Khaled’s views on this and whether or not he has asked them to reconsider.
I know from previous well esteemed CEOs we have the ability to tell SYP where to jump but as usual we have fallen into bed with them! Please like me write to the SY Police and Crime Commissioner saying how embarrassing this is on his patch!
