    The Phillips of last season was streets ahead of what Conor is now and I was one of Conor's biggest fans when he was here.

    Doesn’t that miss the point though? Conor, who I loved, was playing in a different type of team, surrounded by, in my opinion, better players (particularly a certain Mr Hammill), and a less possession-based approach. Whatever else Kane’s detractors may accuse him of, he very rarely loses possession and, in my opinion, he is our hardest- working player. He also pops up with a goal and assist or two. He’s not a Conor, that’s definitely true, but neither are Styles, Russell, Phillips or even Connell for that matter.

    I agree his form dipped back end of last season but his goals and assists stats were miles infront of any other midfielder over the season. Hasn't really had a run of games since the suspension under Collins. Good players don't turn bad overnight.
