    Now Blueline are no more, who do you recommend for a local taxi please? Don't want to get ripped off.

    Very little choice now. City Taxis were bought by same folk as Blue Line. So really looking at Veezu on the whole.

    Black cab from the rank in town.

    Around mapp/darton there is greenside but tend to find veezu cheaper.

    At weekends, you can drop on an uber as well. Not sure for other Barnsley areas.

    Veezu appear to be the new Uber for Barnsley, all taxis are dear now though

    Ace taxis have been in existence around Wakey area for a good few years but I think A1 Ace Taxis were a separate firm.
    Would it be late 70’s when they sponsored the MOM ?
    Seems like yesterday !

    Mad to think people still ring for taxis or stand in taxi ranks. Not a dig at the OP, just a general point, as I'm led to believe it's still a thing!

    How else do you get from A to B if you have been on a night out and the buses finish about 11 bells?

    So taxi then which uber is essentially. Walk 10 mile home is a no, don't bother is a bizarre answer, lift most of time not possible.

    I have walked home to Houghton after a night out when I was a young un. IIRC it was NYE, so about -5. 1/10 would not recommend.

    Used Veezu now for a few weeks, download the app and gives you a quote there and then. Paying by cash is better as paying using Google pay adds a couple of quid on for some reason
