From my knowledge, and I may be wrong, the club only get charged for police in the ground but SYP will say if they feel a game is safe or not and make a recommendation. This doesn’t have to be followed by the club though. There was an excellent episode of the price of football podcast recently where they had the chief of footballing police on and he explained it in more detail. Definitely worth a listen
I'm not sure I fully understand what can be concluded from this statement. There appears to be a fair chunk of information missing. Particularly between the final two bullet points. We’re led to believe Doncaster were reluctant to move to the Sunday due to their Football League Trophy game on Tuesday 7th November We also believe moving to the Sunday was a challenge for Barnsley Football Club due to the Ladies game already being planned Something's missing here! SYP were then contacted directly by the FA to confirm that the Barnsley vs. Horsham game would be moved to Friday 3rd November. SYP can only request for a change to be considered, but the decisions are made by other authorities The implication appears to be that Barnsley FC didn't want the game on Sunday, made a request to the FA that the fixture should take place on Friday, the FA agreed, set the date for Friday and informed South Yorkshire police. Is that what I'm supposed to conclude from this? Is it also being suggested that we wanted the game on Friday because the women's team are playing Sunday? Have I got this right, are the above two point what the BFCST are claiming? If not, what is being suggested?
With respect. As for letting the ladies experience the stadium again. There will be many more other opportunities. For Horsham Just the one. The ladies were not given specific games to play on the main pitch if I remember rightly. But as and when seen fit (pretty sure they said hopefully more games would be selected. but no games specifically mentioned at the time) . Have the football club given any more fixtures the nod going forward. I'd be surprised if they have (at this stage. Not to say they won't) and why would it only be announced today. (conveniently I suspect. If not. i do believe the Horsham game should have taken priority not a game where there may be at a guess a few hundred at most.) I'd be interested to know what the attendances have been on the academy pitch. Given the first game was seen as a novelty by most supporters. it would be nice to know when BFCST were given notice of this particular game to be played on the main pitch. I'd be interested to know when the ladies team were made aware. That would probably be a better pointer.
A meeting has hopefully been set up for a fortnight's time. (Dependent on invites and RSVP's I assume) With the South yorkshire supporters groups reps. Stadium safety officers. and SYP. Hopefully questions will be asked and answered openly.
I think people are over thinking this. To me someone has said Barnsley can play on a friday. Without any consideration we said Ok no problem. Too lazy to think it through even. Horsham have more or less said the same and this seems to be in line with many things from our club of late.
That's more or less how I think it's happened. Too thick or lazy to think through the consequences. Or just not arsed about them.
I agree. I don't think that anyone from the club has intentionally sabotaged this. But then when concerns have been raised, we've thought "oh fck", and we've buried our head in the sand.
I think we are pretty headless at the moment. Neerav spends most of his time out of the country, as does JAQ, but unlike him, she spends hers on another planet....GO REDS.....and Khaled appears to have vanished, other than them do we have anyone doing anything? No comments, no media, no PR, no merch, no explanations....just nothing. All a bit weird how fast the club-fans connection has deteriorated.
Yeah Neerav and JAQ. Putting millions into the club to keep us on an even keel. What a pair of b*****rds!
We Don't know the full details as to why the fa came to that decision they did, we only know Doncaster are playing on Tuesday so they can ask not to play on Sunday.the Barnsley ladies was also a league game. The trust as put in the statement were not aware of fixture problems/change until it was officially announced on club website
I'm not sure whether there's any relevance to the ladies game being played on the main pitch to be honest. Even if they were only due to play on the academy pitch, there's still a clash. Limited changing and training facilities etc.
Fair point re timing. But as someone else said. If it had been selected for tv on the Sunday. I'm sure summat would have been done. Eg shift the womens game to the saturday.
Not sure, but it's more than just changing rooms. With both teams under the same umbrella now, surely there's resources at the club required for both teams at the same time. Presumably it's the reason why we don't have a first team game playing at the same time as a u21s game.
Maybe mate, none of us know the full ins and outs I suppose. It looks like the club has looked at the easiest solution as opposed to the best.
That’s exactly what I think happened. No malice in it whatsoever but no consideration for Horsham either. I do think they moved the women’s game to the main pitch as an excuse once it all kicked off though.
