So far, little old Barnsley have accrued double the league points of SUFC, Rotherham and the "massive" SWFC combined. Happy days!!!
I enjoy schadenfreude as much as the next Reds fan but Sheff Utd are playing Arsenal and we are playing Fleetwood.
True but unites look odds on to beat derby's lowest points total. 0 wins so far.. even cup teams sometimes get a upset against the big clubs.
Sheff Utd have also played Palace and lost to them and Fulham and lost to them and Lincoln and lost to them. They've played 10 games and lost 9 of them, drawing once. They've managed 7 league goals which we had reached by 5th August, an hour n half into season. This weekend they get to lose to Arsenal. I could do that. I couldn't beat Fleetwood though which I think we've got a very good chance of doing. I'd prefer to be where we are.
I’m really not that sure about the mentality of crowing over having more points than our local rivals who all play in a higher division to be honest. How many points would this squad have accrued in the championship? Never mind the premier league! How is it relevant? I’m also not remotely arsed. I don’t care. I’ll cry no tears if they’re all relegated, I’d probably prefer if the Sheffield teams were but if I’m honest I’ve little reason to dislike Rotherham United at all. Though I’ve little interest, they aren’t an opponent this season. What I do want is for us to have more points than at least 22 other league one teams come May. If we have double the points of the rest added together - but finish outside the top two and don’t win the playoffs - that’s not a thing to celebrate. Competing at the same level as Sheff United and a level above Wednesday and Rotherham in 24/25 will be though.
True, but its only a bit of fun at their expense. Let's not pretend they wouldn't be doing the exact same thing if roles were reversed
I hope Utd turn it round. Hecky is a nice bloke and I don’t mind utd fans. Wednesday on the other hand…
It was, the two wing stands which were listed, form two blocks of apartments with the pitch being an open grassed area between them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highbury_Square
Tomorrow's game means a third of the way into the season for us, and Ive got to say Im pleased with them so far. Surprised yes, but pleased as well to be in 3rd. And as it stands at the moment, there's the chance to move up to 2nd if results go our way. And it hadn't quite dawned on me until I looked at the table again after the Shrewsbury win. Amazingly, all of the 4 teams who have beaten us at Oakwell, are in the top 6!!. So apart from Blackpool who did also look poor on the day, we aren't exactly losing to the bad teams in this League. With certain players to return and maybe improve us even more, I'm starting to think now that we have a very good chance of going up this time.
