Did well but not well enough. Down 1-0 from the game in Gothenburg let them take the lead which shattered us. We got a goal back but players after a very hard season just could not take that extra step. Still proud of the achievement of the players
My dad's a Millwall but more of a Dulwich hamlet fan and has been since the 50s. His stories of what the dockers used to take into the grounds including ponies dragging in vats of moonshine are excellent. To be clear, he's a massive pacificist so finds no pleasure in the modern day Millwall reputation but like most clubs they have their *******. On this basis I loved us getting pinnock and don't feel the ill will towards Millwall. Different times though I guess. Miners, dockers, ship builders and steel workers have all been killed in the water by subsequent governments and all have their reason to despise the fuvkers in charge. Barnsley is my only team but there are a million stories of people just as good as you that follow their teams through thick and thin.
Can't accept that! They cheated us, quite literally, out of being in the top division! We could have had the success of Arsenal if not for that, boooo
Just read an excellent quote. " At Spurs we set our sights so high that even failure will have an echo of glory". What a magical ethos. Goes beyond football for me.
All the local non-league teams and the teams mates of mine support - Exeter, Spurs, Scunny. I used to go and watch Raith Rovers when I was up at the in-laws, but as they’re now ex-in-laws I won’t be going up there again. And this season I am wanting Luton to do well. Partly cos half of them used to be at Barnsley, but mainly because I think it’s a great story and they have done it the right way. I’ve disliked football for some time now, especially the Premiership, cos money has ruined the game, so it’s great to see a team that bucks the trend. I really hope they stay up, and shove two fingers up at all the pundits who have belittled them.
Luton, as a good friend who tragically passed away a few years ago was a fanatical supporter. My "other" team is Lincoln, but as I watched them a lot in my teens, I can't really claim to have no connection with them. Have a lot of friends who are Imps, so I'm always happy to see them doing well.
