Feel good factor with attractive football with MLH after the Schopp and Asbaghi chaos, followed by the dismal Collins headless chickens displays. Yeah the numbers currently add up, but the performances are just .........meh.
Home form. Most fans don’t notice we are unbeaten away and have won nearly all the games. But losing 4 at home is something most will notice.
The home form hurts the most - we’ve paid for season tickets so feel we have to go, only to be rewarded with LLLL already. Top teams hardly ever lose at home. The away record is great, of course, but it’s the minority of the fan base who get to enjoy that first hand.
True. But that’s partially down to the fact we had a horrible October last season. However, that was then followed up with an unbeaten run - winning 6 of the next 7 games. Will we go on a similar unbeaten run this season? Time will tell.
Spot on. Why are people papering over such a glaringly obvious disappointment? You aren't going to part with money to see em' right now unless you've got more brass than sense.
Absolutely, for the vast majority of us home games and the performances that go with them are the motivating factor for season ticket renewal. For all that a number of people say they're red until they die, if that was the way everyone felt then season ticket numbers wouldn't dip following relegations.
Not at all, just observed that results away from home, are out of kilter with results at Oakwell which, for the majority of our fan base, is a prime factor in our choice to spend money on tickets. Not all of us have the money, the time or understanding partners willing to wave us off to follow Barnsley, as the song went, over land and sea!
Lies, damn lies and statistics ( Twain/ Disraeli)....the evidence may be there via the numbers, but if you actually watch this seasons matches, it's hard not to be underwhelmed.
Because these lads won't go on a long win run like we had last season with MLH. Eventually we will be behind last seasons total.
Not from me. I'm actually hopeful that Collins will be with us long term ( 2 seasons +) and we can actually build.
Just so we've got this straight. If we play a team off the park, provide plenty of entertainment, are brilliant for 90 minutes, then lose thanks to a daft defensive error - that's good. But if we score a few early, then control the game, choke the opposition with our possession, and suffer no late scares or anything - that's bad. I think I've got it.
Currently in Seychelles, the wildlife is next level. Attenborough documentary stuff.........the rums not bad neither
