I couldn't make it yesterday so was spared the disappointment.
Would really like to know how Luca played when he came on. Don't want any jibes or people having a go at anyone; just want some objective comment as to how the lad coped.
    Cheers.

Me too. Hope he enjoyed the game if not the result.

It was a joy to watch a midfielder looking to always play the ball forward. The difference with Luca is if he can't pass forward he generally holds on to the ball until he can, rather than sidewards or backwards for the sake of it.

He was the best player on the field for the time he was on, with the possible exception of the Horsham keeper.

I was concerned about how off the pace he might be, given that he'd only had 30 minutes of a trouncing to Wigan U21s, but he was involved straight away and trying to make positive plays.

Seeing him back was the highlight of the evening.

Got a standing ovation when he came on. It's a delight to see a midfielder who can break up the opposition's play and then look to start an attack of our own by looking to play the ball forward instead of looking for a side or back pass.

Hopefully, once Luca is back fully fit and can play 90 minutes, Collins will utilise his midfielders properly, like they were last season.

Imo, the negative, boring style is due to having two defensive midfielders in Russell and kane whereas last season, Luca played deep and kane and Phillips played as proper midfielders, getting forward to join the forwards.

Kane has been getting lots of stick for the negativity but what he is being asked to do isn't his natural game. I seem to remember a few games early last season under MLH where he was deeper with the same result. Once we clicked and the performances improved, Kane and Phillips were much further forward.

Will Collins utilise the players in the same way once Luca is back, time will tell but as far as I am concerned, we shouldn't be playing with two defensive midfielders, especially at home.

Without wanting to rush him back too soon, I’m very excited to see Luca back in our team. He was our best player last season and will certainly improve us, if he can hit those same levels again.

Yeah we need protection from the officials when a few of our players are getting kicked about like that. Its dirty football and the last thing we needed was for it to have a bad effect.
Thankfully by the sounds of it, Connell and Jalo and all the rest, came through it ok. Regardless of the result!.

Going to be massive for us when he's fully fit - can't wait

Still looks a little bit off being fully fit, but certainly looked like the Luca of old when he came on. Positive in his play, trying to get us moving.

Will certainly be a massive help when he's back. Best player at the club by a mile.

This lad should be captain he dictates the field. Soon as he came on there was a difference he injects pace. When he passes the ball he knows where the next one should go and he tries to tell the receiver. Complete breath of fresh air

Give him 45 mins in replay. An hour v Bradford and then longer v Sutton (fingers crossed). Hopefully then fully fit going into Xmas programme

Agree apart from the Captain bit.

Just let him play his game as usual - doesn’t need any distractions. Captaincy doesn’t suit everyone. Just need him to do what he did last season, and that’s more than good enough.
