Why no Connell? Is he injured again? I’ve been out of the country for a coupla weeks and not seen much news.
Was told he spat the dummy out when he was included in the 21s the week after been sent off. No idea if it's true but IF it is it's a worry as I think he offers something different to the other options.
I hope I regret saying it, and I hope he responds by scoring a hat trick but I really am baffled as to how Max Watters gets to start.
I'm ever the optimist but I have a worrying feeling about today. Hope I'm wrong but I feel a hiding coming.
I don't think we'll get a hiding, but I think we'll lose. Just got that sinking feeling I sometimes get before games. Felt exactly the same before Derby at Oakwell last season, so hopefully I'll be very wrong again!
I genuinely don't understand why people don't like him. I'm not being contrary, I know what people think about him, but I just don't see it. I admit that he's not in sparkling form, but I don't see him do anything wrong, he works hard, closes the opposition down well and his goals and assists for minutes on the pitch stand up to scrutiny against anyone. He's started 15 games for us and has 7 goals. Baffles me.
I’m the same. I wish people would get off his back. He works hard and is far from being rubbish. Why people feel the need to drag down a player who is actually doing ok, mystifies me. I remember Deon Burton!
I agree with most of that Jay. His work off the ball goes uncredited, and people try to explain away his assists as being irrelevant. However, as a striker, he needs to start adding goals. Currently it is only Devante up front who is scoring, with other positions chipping in. When Devant has a dry spell, as he did recently, then we are in trouble.
Me too! And dozens and dozens of others who offered nothing like what Watters has given us. Is Watters one of the best strikers we've had on his performances so far? No, he's not, but it's still very early days, the lad has potential and he's our player. If we give him a chance he may become so.
