Not sure I get the logic there. Have to feel immensely sorry for the lad. Hard to see how he has a career at any sort of decent level if he can't go for more than 10 minutes without breaking down. It's not as if he was rushed back.
Look at what we had and what we recruited and it’s no real surprise we are poor defensively. Selling Kitching was good on paper but didn’t allow us to find an adequate replacement expect a loan from Rotherham that’s not pulled up any trees.
I don't blame Collins, I blame the people/person who appointed him. It's as if the lessons of Schopp and Asbaghi weren't took on board. The recruitment hasn't exactly been great which certainly hasn't helped things, in defence especially.
Shepherd has been absolutely excellent again since coming on. I don't think McCart is anywhere near as bad as some people on here do. I just think that Shepherd looks much, much better.
I’m not complaining personally about our defensive frailties. What I don’t like about Collins is that we’re to negative. Yes the defence is ****! So maybe try and score some goals.
Well first 45 minutes Derby were garbage. No idea how collins will defend that 2nd half display. We were awful .
A defeat against Horsham should seal his fate. That said, the recruitment team have dealt him a poor hand. Max Watters didn't look like a prolific goal scorer last season so it was a surprise we offered him a contract. The loss of seasoned defenders from last season was always going to make it difficult especially if you can't afford to recruit experience. McCart looks a poor loan signing.
This This is always going to hapoened when you sell virtually the back line and change the manager yet again. Plus he has coached in the USA which is not the EFL as Duff had when appointed. Not as bizarre as Schopp ans Ashbagi but not as much nous as Michael Duff.Under Collins we've changed the pressing game which served as well which proved so successful to a more defensive, pedestrian style.
100% agree with this, I'll also add the persistence that the board have influence on the formation we play and the stubborness that we keep playing with dross wingbacks is killing us, opposing managers have us sussed out way before a ball is kicked it's plan A or Plan A
In short Yes - his man management skills are poor and given the players at his disposal we should be playing alot better than we are and they simply are not responding to him
Dreadful stats. He doesn't know what he's doing. His anti Football would at least be a bit more bareable if it produced results, which it doesn't often enough. His squad have had three months of matches to gel and if anything look worse as time goes on.
What would we say about another club in 6th place sacking their manager? Too early but understand the disappointment and a lot of the criticisms
The sarcastic sIgN a StRiKeR comment from the Port Vale game just shows the total contempt those at the club have for the fans, aswell as unprofessionalism and a total lack of ability in all areas behind the scenes. Amateur set up run by amateurs, especially the media department. Collins isn't good enough but he isn't the problem.
Couldn't agree more. If Collins was getting his ideas across on the training pitch we'd be seeing signs by now even if we weren't necessarily getting results.
It would seem a bit premature. The next three league games are all very winnable. Let's see where we are after them. Less than 7 points and you'd think he's on thin ice.
