A pretty even first half. An absolute **** show of a second half. No desire. No shape. No defence. No chance.
Very tight, even first half, which we probably just shaded. They went ahead thanks to an absolute joke of a penalty decision about half an hour in. Second half we conceded a shambolic goal not long after half time. McAtee missed an excellent chance to get us back into it soon after, but we then conceded another similarly shambolic goal 10 minutes later. We huffed and puffed for the rest of the game but Derby looked more like scoring. Benson came on and went back off injured 6 minutes later. He was replaced by Shepherd who once again looked like our best defender. The end.
Two poor sides in the first half, one terrible side in the second half one average. The score doesn't flatter them it could have much worse.
You’ve summed it up exactly how I saw it. Can’t forgive that defending but I must say the officials were dreadful yet again. We got a few early free kicks, their fans started to boo and after that we got literally zero decisions.
A pretty accurate summary. I also have no idea why a penalty was given - commentators said a nudge by O'Keefe, But their 2nd and 3rd were so poor, both from a punt upfield by their goalkeeper, hesitant defending..
Derby didn’t have to get out of first gear and still won easily. Our football is very ploddy and lacks imagination when we come up against the half decent sides of this league.
A good summary, with the exception of how much worse the score could have been with all Derby's late misses.
Good summary @Merde Tete The only thing I disagree with is the penalty decision. From where I was sitting it looked like a clear push in the back by O'Keeffe. I'd have been furious if we hadn't been given it in their box.
I did wonder if it looked different from another angle, as I've watched the one we saw on TV over and over again, and it still doesn't look remotely like a pen. If O'Keefe did shove their player then he was pretty much culpable for all 3 goals.
Even first half ....out muscled and played second half. They could and should have had a couple more but for bad finishing.
I agree with that too. He had a really poor game today imo. His position is a problem as neither he nor Cotter seem able to find any consistency in it.
